Thanks to the 3.0 changes there is no reason for ever using it in pve and don't get me started on pvp.
It can hit for 2 damage when golden gun will insta kill if it hits your toe, it has zero super armor, you need an aspect just so it's a little bit above useless, and it has the longest charge time. Why?!?! It's absolutely garbage and I know that change was solely made to discourage us from using icarus dash, even though nothing will ever stop warlocks from using it so all it did was make a bad super even worse.

2 RepliesAnd using pheonix dive in super wastes the charge. When hunters can dodge constantly in arc strider, and titans can use their melee constantly for behemoth. But we cant constantly use an ability we could use like that before.

One super is for pve…well One super is for pvp…DB any questions?

1 ReplyWorst super right now it cant even take out a goldy wwith 2 hits

Edited by 尺のムひ乇アノ乙乙ム: 6/24/2022 1:01:07 AMThe one useful thing it can do in PvE is basically ignore the second half of the first encounter in GoS. The death bridge bit, where you just iccy dash across it and ignore all of the ads Edit: Spelling

It’s fine in PvP, it’s pretty much the super you the old top tree Dawnblade plus a fire trail. Technically as far as PvP is concerned there’s nothing to complain about, just some small tweaks but nothing major. The issue is that it got worse in PvE, a lot worse. It might be as bad as Spectral Blades in PvE and that’s really saying something Also who told you Daybreak has 0 damage resistance? It’s sitting around 51% for it’s Damage resistance. There’s only 1 super in the game with 0 damage resistance and that the Deadshot Golden gun (or the marksman golden gun if you choose to not run the “knock ‘em down” aspect for some weird reason)

Because bungie didn't have the spine to admit they screwed up when they removed og sunsinger, and instead of bringing it back, they doubled down on a mediocre subclass in hopes that people would forget.
-
In pve yeah it’s bad. In pvp hell no it’s fine as is
-
This is just wrong on multiple fronts. The super can do really low damage, but you need to miss shots. It has the same super armor as other ranged projectile supers (Hammer of Sol, Burning Maul, Stormtrance, Nova Warp). It’s really solid in PvP but you need to keep its duration in mind. It’s the only thing keeping it balanced. In PvE, it feels like they balanced the super around PvP but forgot to adequately adjust the super’s damage/effectiveness in PvE. Lack of super duration extension and the changes to Dawn Chorus mean that it got left way behind compared to other subclasses.
-
It was always bad. Everlasting Flame just hid that fact, but it got taken away.
-
I used it for the first time in the Master corrupted strike with "promethium spur" boots thinking I was going to shred the adds at the final boss encounter. But jumping in the heavens to reign down blades only to throw 5 instead of like 10 was pathetic and I died. Lol! They butchered it! Completely useless. 🥲

The general consensus here and reddit confirm this. Bring back bottom tree dawnblade. Daybreak is horrible.
-
1 ReplyThe problem is it has nothing to increase its performance since bottom tree’s perks got deleted. All the nerfs: Long cooldown, one of the lowest dmg reduction of all supers, you can’t extend the super, the tracking fragment is dog water compared to the old one, the ignite on super kill doesn’t chain like the old one, Dawn Chorus was “reworked” when really it was nerfed, the old speed boost from burst glide was removed a long time ago, and you can’t spam icarus dash anymore. All of these nerfs ^ has completely ruined Daybreak and has given zero reasons to use it over Well of Radiance in PvE and PvP.

1 ReplyI have a simple solution. If Bunie isn't going to buff Day Break, extend it's duration or anything, just scrape Day Break and give Warlock the Harvester Scythe as its new Solar Super. It uses the same sound effects, has the projectile tracking, hits spread scorch to nearby enemies and it can scorch/ignite without an exotic or fragment. Adjust it's super timer so it's similar to Big Hammer or Spinny Stick. It's fantastic at ad clear. It's fantastic at single target DPS Exactly what Solar 2.0 Day Break was (even more so with old Dawn Chorus) Make it happen Bungie.

Its not bad its a really good PvP super and can outplay alot of supers

1 ReplyIt‘s very good in PvP.

It is horrible, it feels like I would be better of shooting the boss with my primary than my super It either needs a rework, or an exotic that makes it do significantly more damage , I know there is dawn chorus but that just adds a tiny miniscule amount of burn damage ,you need to see chunks of damage instead of tiny rain drops -
What I lack in damage, I more than make up for in style points baby. Phoenix dive in super is still badazz all day! Just wish it did damage when I do it ☹️. It definitely needs love in pve. I say just stick rampage on it and put back the extend and it would be legit again.

13 RepliesIt’s the best pvp super actually,if you can’t use it you might need to practice,I mean the thing can go up so high in the air that melee supers can’t hit it,it has a dodge with no cooldown, and a ranged attack with a blast radius. It’s literally titan hammer with a slightly smaller explosion but a ton more mobility. It’s the most flexible super in the game,I’d but sentinel right below it and stormcaller or golden gun.
-
2 RepliesIt has a long charge time cause of PVP. It is really good in PVP and if you check your damage number properly, this super has way more health than without it active.
-
In pve it needs a buff. But in pvp it’s really good.

I would say it's a shocker that they didn't do this with solar update but no I'm not surprised about anything Bungie does at this point. Or doesn't do for that matter.
