Hi there. There is a mandatory 90-day cooldown for deactivating Cross Save for any reason. It sounds like you activated Cross Save recently then deactivated it right away because you thought there was a mistake. Unfortunately because you deactivated, you must wait the remaining cooldown before it can be used again. Having bought Silver on Steam would not prevent you from activating Cross Save with that account. You would only be prevented from choosing that account if you had previously linked it to another Cross Save that was disabled within 90 days. When setting up Cross Save, you choose which authenticated account's characters you want to be "Active" on the setup screen to cross-save to the other account(s). The characters of each account you've linked and authenticated will appear for you to verify and select which you want to be active. If your Steam account showed no characters after you authenticated, that would mean you authenticated an alt account by mistake that has never played D2 and has no characters. Or again, if the Steam account had been used in another Cross Save, you would not be able to select it until the 90 days cooldown on it had expired.
