300 strikes/crucible/gambit matches for witherhoard catalyst quest
Filthy Lucre.... a filthy progress to farm. It only progresses 1/300 per completion. Assuming i were to only do strikes, which can average from 5 minutes to 12 ish minutes depending on what strike and team. thats at least 1500 minutes back to back on strikes excluding loading time. Is there a better way to do this? ;-;

I don’t remember exactly.. but I think you get it from precision kills in strikes.. not just when you complete.. I remember seeing me collecting it on right of screen while in strikes.. I could be wrong. In any case, I don’t remember that step taking too long.. it was guardian kills in crucible that took me forever. (Momentum Control is your friend). I freaked out when I got the Eriana’s cat.. just played passively and I finally got those 400. Took a few seasons. Witherhoard’ cat is DEFINITELY worth it. Good luck. Eyes up:).

2 RepliesNo there is not and that catalyst needs to change. It was only tolerable in Season of Arrivals because the seasonal catalyst buff was active. Since then its has been one of the best utility guns with the worst catalyst quest you can find.

3 RepliesIt's the guardian kills that kill me. Why can't it be 50. Some of the things you have to do just to get the catalyst then have to grind out more kills is kinda stupid.

1 ReplyI completed it and arianas more than 2 seasons after the seasons they came out in. Massive regrets. Bungie should make the current seasons booster work for them. 300 and 400 activity completions is doable and goes by without noticing by just playing the game and at least don’t require having them equipped but still, It’s more a slap in the face to new light players than to people where too lazy back then to leave these quests as is.

I mean it will come eventually even if you don’t grind. You don’t realize how many matches you play sometimes in pvp, gambit or strikes. I know I don’t especially if I’m just playing with friends on stuff.

If you get the 4X booster its only 70 or so activities. And nightfalls and so count for more.

Get the catalyst quest buff, it should apply to all quests now. I get most of these done by just dicking around and playing the game. I have like 3 seasonal exotic quests that have all these done but havent done them

6 RepliesSadly it’s a seasonal exotic and you are completing it in a different season without the catalyst boost it had during the season it came out.

I got the Catalyst during the season the Witherhorn was release..... and I forgot how I got it. It wasn't that much of a grind back then, the Catalyst is very useful for the best weapon in game. I vaguely remember, it was 100 guardian kills and I did most of my PVE kills on Escalation Proticol. It went by fast, PVP don't realize they are walking into the area

That was just the way things were back then. It's the most useful catalyst in the game though.

I've been using witherhoard since the day it came out personally I think it's one if the best exotics. I don't remember was that always the requirement to complete the catalyst?

What I find even more disgusting on Bungie's part is that after unlocking the catalyst you have to unlock unlock it by scoring kills before even being able to use is.... Like WTF? No, I did the silly requirement of playing so many activities with it, I should be able to slap that bad boy on it right after completing that.

Sadly no. I had the same issue with Erianas vow since I couldn't play most of the season. Had to do 200 strikes to finish it out.
