I was excited about Solar 3.0 based on the current state of Stasis and Void. I personally loved Bottom Tree Dawn the most and with Solar 3.0 its just gone, If I want to play Dawnblade I'm forced to to play Top Tree Dawn play style which I personally do not care for. Below is a breakdown and my feedback and suggestions on changes to allow Solar warlock to feel closer to being whole again:
Movement Feedback: Why was Icarus given a 5 second cool down while Phoenix Dive was given well over a minute! After playing with the new Phoenix Dive I personally would never use it over a rift since it only works for a fleeting moment. If Phoenix Dive provided the aoe scorch stacks and dropped a rift for a few seconds then yes I could see its utility for the cooldown length but just the dive and cure its a wasted ability that very few would use that we used to get for FREE like Icarus dash. My suggestion is to make the Phoenix Dive ability an aspect say with a 10 second onscreen cooldown similar to Icarus dash.
Grenade Feedback: Now that a healing grenade is its own separate thing I cannot choose between a defensive healing grenade or an offensive one based on the situation which I see is a huge nerf to player choice. My suggestion here is to change the Touch of Flame aspect to allow us to charge other grenades into healing grenades.
Melee feedback: I liked the new snap melee ability however with the new enemy density I would have preferred to have igniting touch since it chained explosions on low health enemies and was an ad clear machine. I would like to see igniting touch back as another option.
Fragment Feedback: I don't understand why all fragments didn't become purchasable at the season launch. Why timegate the 2 fragments that would have made the subclasses more fun. I could understand with void because of the new raid and it was the launch of the witch queen but Solar 3.0 was shipped in an underwhelming state with the only other new thing being the dungeon (which there inst a worlds first race for) and the last 2 fragments would have helped the delivery of the subclass update making feel more complete.
Overall I personally feel like my favorite subclass was gutted and half-heartily shipped because you promised a subclass delivery every season. I would have preferred more time taken to make sure All subclass trees were included with their unique abilities and play styles. I main playing Bottom Tree in the past and since this feels underwhelming I don't feel the desire to play D2 like I did before. Please give me back the Explosion based Fire God that was Bottom Tree Dawn that I loved to play.

4 RepliesYou mention the state of Void & Stasis. I agree with Void feeling well designed with a good amount of player agency & exotic synergy, but Stasis (Warlock) does not feel good at present. It feels like it's been nerfed so heavily it's not holding together any longer, and it's not been aging well as a sub-class. In fact Stasis feels neglected and like it already needs a re-design to improve the quality of play back to the level it had when it launched. As for Warlock Solar 3.0, Sunbracers are fun, but it does feel very much half-baked to me.
