Huge frame drops with Season of the Haunted

Is anyone else getting SIGNIFICANTLY worse performance at times with this new season? Up until today, i have had the game consistently locked at 117 fps, max graphics settings at 4k res. If there were a lot of enemies and explosions on screen, it would occasionally dip down to low 100s. But with this update today, on the leviathan whenever theres more than 3 enemies on screen and an explosion, my fps drops all the way down to the 20s or 30s!!! This isnt a hardware issue, as i'm not having issues with fps drops in other games, and it only started happening in D2 with the release of this update today. It's also not a temp issue, cpu and gpu are at 50 degrees C in a water loop together. system specs: i9-9900k RTX 3080 32gb ddr4 3600mhz Aorus Pro Wifi Z390 D2 installed on Samsung 970 EVO nvme drive

  • Probably too many assets and special effects they had to add in, resulting in your device crashing. I'm not an expert, but something that could potentially help at least a little is clearing your PC/Destiny 2 cached data (not your data files) or restarting/unplugging the device for a decent amount of time, then reopening the app possibly? Hope this helps a little. like I said, I'm not an expert at this or a certified moderator but I'm a console player and restarting my device always helps with the lag and stuff, and it SHOULD work for PC too.
