Deepsight Resonance, enough already

Crafting: cool idea. Bad execution. So the solution is to put materials on weapons you cant even craft that you then have to USE until the material unlocks? So now there is an endless supply of mediocre weapons either clogging my vault, because the mats are capped low, or overflowing my mailbox. The craftable items themselves are pretty “meh”. So why? WHY?! Either open up more vault space or make the attunement process quicker. Better yet, do both. FFS we are YEARS into this game. How about a little wiggle room?

  • Crafting should be easy..... After I find a weapon..... Let's say 'Bonechiller.' I find it with Assault Mag & Full Bore perks. I can now craft Bonechiller with those perks at any time. As I keep playing, I find another Bonechiller..... this one also has Assault Mag but instead of Full Bore has the Smallbore perk. NOW, I can craft Bonechiller with Assault Mag, Full Bore OR Smallbore. I should be able to see the other possible perks that Bonechiller has, but simply cannot craft them yet until I get lucky enough to find one with those perks. This solves a few different issues. 1. It's a good crafting system. Tie a small, farmable crafting material to it for the tiniest bit of restriction. 2. It basically ELIMINATES the need for a Vault, as people can craft weapons ON DEMAND. Vault Space would be used primarily for armors and their various stats. So someone can decide to keep a high mobility piece they like or whatever they choose.

    • Yeah the entire system looks designed to make you use undesirable weapons & perks, and it's pretty obvious. Haven't touched it since finishing the Glaive quest.

      • I can't stand that when you craft a weapon you have to level it up to 20 to even unlock enhanced perks. Why? You have to use a butt load of materials and rare Ascendent Alloys of it anyways why must you play THAT long without good perks. You're better off using random rolls which by the way can drop better rolls than what can be crafted.

      • I'd just be happy if it dropped something else than Empirical Evidence or Red Herring that I already have.

      • I delete every red border weapon I get unless it is itself a god roll I plan on keeping.

        • If you’re capped on mats then you don’t need to hoard deepsight guns, because you’re clearly not using the mats you already have. Or at the very least don’t hold more than like 10 deepsight weapons in your vault. That’s 3000 neutral element saved up, making your total 13k, enough for you to buy 6 enhanced perks at once and still have a little left over.

        • Red bars drop frequent enough that you shouldn’t feel the need to store them in your vault.

          • With neutral element becoming the only resource for most crafting I'm pretty alright with it now. Deepsight reminds me of the old D1 weapon foundry test weapons, and I really liked how that worked. 5 deepsights seems like a lot to me, but for some people that's just the grind to craft a raid weapon.

            • Why save the red border guns. You get dozens of them per day. Just do them when you need mats. 10.000 is a lot of mats when crafting costs like 300.

            • Crafting Raid Weapons: for the casual player If you ran a completed VoD raid every week with the guaranteed chance from the hidden chest at the end, that nets you 2 deep-sight raid weapons. Now, given that there are multiple raid weapons to unlock in crafting, and given it’s all RNG with no bad luck protection on those drops, someone did the math and you have a 30% chance to get 2 red border weapons you want each weekly run. With RNG in your favor, it will take you running a full run on each character: ….. 5 weeks Yes.. 5 weeks. 15 weeks if you did just 1 character a week. These are just off the 2 guaranteed drops. Because you can do a run and not get any. You can also do a run and get 2 o 3 on top of it. And seasons are around 3 months. Seasons are around 3 months It takes an additional 3 weeks to get the drowned element and level all of them to choose the perks you want on the weapons. That’s 2 months of time give or take. Next season? Well.. that’s a new raid and craftables. So it throws you back into the grind with only a couple weeks off. And this is just the raid weapons…..
