HDR issues still plaguing PS5 after a whole season
Tittle, I made a couple of posts about this problem when the DLC first dropped and they messed up the whole HDR system with the big update
The game looks dim and washed out no matter how much I mess with the Midpoint and Nits, but it also tends to change the whole brightness whenever I go into the map or my menu causing the game to have this annoying flickering between brightnesses.
No it's not my TV, other games do not suffer this problem.
This has to be the worst HDR system I've seen in any game, other games just keep it simple, please fix this issue.
i´ll repost these findings from another user, credit goes to (SevenInchScrew)
Witch Queen In-Game HUD Brightness Bug still occurring, even after 4.0.0.3
Even after today's update (4.0.0.3), the game is still exhibiting a brightness issue with HUD elements. I thought perhaps with the HDR issue getting looked at, twice now, this might get fixed. It did not.
When you are in a live game space, the brightness of any HUD element is dimmed quite noticeably, but the second you open your inventory or the Director, it all brightens right up. This includes any player HUD elements, icons/nameplates for other players, patrol icons, Quest markers, etc. When you open your inventory, or open the Director, or are in a Vendor menu, all of those on-screen menu elements are the correct brightness. Being in Orbit is also correct. It's just when you are in an actual playable space where this happens.
You can see this change happen in real-time if you receive an item. When the item shows up on the right side of the screen, you can see its icon visibly brighten when you open your inventory, and then dim again when going back to the live space. This doesn't happen when In orbit, nor does it happen when you are in a Vendor inventory screen.
In these linked clips, pay attention to the icon for the weapon I'm sending over. In the clips where I'm in the in-game world, you will see the icon for the weapon get noticeably brighter the second the inventory or Director are opened.....

In these next clips, where I'm no longer actively in a live space, you will see how the icon for the weapon does NOT change brightness, since those areas are using the correct brightness. Everything in those menus, especially with HDR, looks nice and bright and clear....

This bug isn't the biggest issue, but its quite noticeable. Due to the HUD area with our abilities/ammo/etc being so dim and hard to see, it can be a bit of an issue seeing them at times. Playing on an OLED TV, I previously turned down the HUD opacity in settings, to try and negate any burn-in as much as I could. Since Witch Queen launched, however, and the in-game HUD elements became so dim, I've had to turn that setting back up to "Full" just so my middle-aged eyes can see them well enough.
Hopefully this can be fixed so I can see things again, while still trying to mitigate burn-in on my TV.
I'm playing on a PS5 with HDR turned on, for reference. I'm unsure if this affects other consoles or settings.

all of this is still accurate and i have the same problems on PS5 and Series X
