Could we go back to the old method of getting ritual weapons, where Banshee gives us a quest for the weapon, then Zavala, Drifter and Shaxx give us quests for the Ornaments, and where Vanguard, Gambit and Crucible /all/ go into the same progress towards Banshee’s quest?
Focusing on doing one activity over, and over, and over again is absolutely dreadful. There’s also the fact that double XP is on rotation each week, meaning players only have a week to try and get the weapon before the process becomes even more long and dreadful.
Here’s two good examples for how Ritual weapons should’ve stayed:
Messy Business (Salvager’s Salvo)
<Earn points by defeating combatants in
Crucible, Gambit, or strike playlists.
Significant bonus progress for Grenade and
Grenade Launcher final blows. Also, complete Crucible, Gambit, or strike matches. Bonus progress for Crucile and Gambit wins, or Nightfall Strikes.>
A Sacred Fusion (Null Composure)
<Earn points by defeating targets in playlist
activities. Earn bonus progress for defeating
targets with Fusion Rifles, disintegrations, or
Solar damage in the Crucible, Gambit, or strike
playlists.
Additional progress for defeating targets with a Stasis Subclass equipped.>
The only time you had to diverge into the 3 different playlists was to get the Ornaments. And guess what? Because they were quests, you had an unlimited time to get them, instead of the reputation system that locks Ritual Weapons and their Ornaments to the current season (well, at least until Bungie decided to vault the Ornaments and their quests, and gave us this new, bad method of getting Ritual Weapons and their Ornaments through the Reputation Ranks).
EDIT: Holy -blam!-, the Ritual Weapons and their Ornaments get added to the kiosk when the season ends. I literally haven’t checked the kiosk in ages ‘cause nothing new was being added to it.
Ye, I think I’d honestly rather hand over a lot of resource instead of tormenting myself with lots of Vanguard, Crucible or Gambit. But still, it would be nice to have the old method from season 12 to season 14 back.

7 RepliesEdited by Demon_XXVII: 4/28/2022 3:02:48 AMLevelling up Gambit (especially slow), Vanguard and Crucible reputation for a weapon is one thing But to make it a singular shitty shotgun & then expect another full reset and rank up for an ornament? (For seasonal challenge/triumph/seal etc) Nah, heck no! Ornaments aren’t content!

29 RepliesEdited by Major-Payne: 4/27/2022 8:19:02 PMI want to say something really sarcastic right now. Maybe even witty but I’m at a loss for words. Lmfao! Your highest guy is 1460. It wouldn’t matter what the quest is if you can’t be bothered to play the game. Jut more of people wanting -blam!- handed to them as usual.

I 100% agree but who cares. Ritual weapons are ok at best and we will never get something that amazing again. The difference between pinnacle weapons and ritual weapons are a perfect example of how destiny was in its prime versus the shadow of itself it has become.
-
I agree having to grind 1 activity with slow reputation is horrible. Also the ornaments are a stupid grind to get in this system
-
Worst part? The TWAB makes it seem like they're going to do it again next Season. They say they want feedback. We tell them we don't like grinding out the same activities over and over again. They ignore it and try to force us to stay on that hamster wheel. That's why we keep taking shots at this game. Because they don't listen when we give actual feedback to work with.

11 RepliesAgain, D1 did this much better, I’ll wear my Rose tinted glasses over the foul toilet brown haze that stems from D2. D2 has been so gutted down. Nothing is centered around the average player anymore, It’s all about the Smug Elites and the Tuber Channel to market for their flights out Bungie Butt Kiss. If you can’t Raid for Worlds First or Go Flawless every week you are shunned. “KWTD! Have a 3.0 KD and have your emblem on to prove it!!” Man this game is just toxic trash now… Wrath of the Machine was a Great Raid. Apparently it’s too easy for the arrogance playing now….“The Raids in D1 are just NFs and Dungeons” “Raid Trash”… “Spoken from someone that can’t Raid” FTP has turned this great game into a cesspool of Thugs, Snobs and Limited time only thrills by Tess

The ritual weapons are a joke now. They are too normal. I get it that they shouldn’t be too powerful but at least make these mote fun to use by giving them a unique perk.
-
2 RepliesI don’t understand why they had to make seasonal ritual weapons harder to get now. They were fun to get up until Season 15 where you had to reach rank 16 to get it with Drifter, Zavala, and Shaxx and get to rank 16 again to get their ornaments? It’s so ridiculous, I couldn’t even get the Gambit last season due to how tedious resetting my infamy rank twice in Gambit. They really need to bring back the original quests for it
-
In previous seasons the grind to unlock the ornaments did seem to take less effort - all the seasonal challenges this time around have become more of a chore. Perhaps a lot of us have been focussed on the legendary campaign and enjoying the story - by the time we got into the seasonal content it just felt like too big a hill to climb. Perhaps if the season had been as long as the last one this would have felt more achievable. At least it will give those who play the game 40+ hrs a week stuff to do! Coupled with the additional grind of crafting. It’s just becoming a little too much for the average fan to take on.
-
I still find it dumb that they would remove the need to reach Legend/reset in each playlist activity as seasonal challenges, only to make it then require reaching Legend twice in each activity just to get the ornaments for their respective challenges.
-
I just want a seasonal weapon that is a primary weapon again.
-
You get four each of these double xp weeks. Trying to do it all in one week is probably what's burning you out.

2 RepliesEdited by vxvxTITANxvxv: 4/28/2022 12:58:28 AMOrnaments take waaay too damn long that’s for sure They need to add 10x XP weeks for people that have lives outside this game. 2x XP isn’t near enough.
-
2 RepliesYeah, this rep grind is ridiculous... especially for the ornaments. Last season was extra long so it was kinda okay... but in 3 months I'm barely getting one reset. I don't play Destiny for a living and I have family and other hobbies.
-
4 RepliesWe had 3 separate weapons and now we only have 1 weapon. Yet again, a looter shooter without loot. 1 weapon for an entire season lol. What a joke.
-
I miss the quests. It felt like a mini mission. These don’t even have flavor text anymore. 😞
-
Agreed, the old way was so much less painful. It wouldnt have been too bad if the playlists ever got a real overhaul, but grinding strikes especially is super tedious at this point when they're mostly made up of the oldest content in the game.
-
This. They were so much better than what we currently have.
-
OP: spot on! 👍 My take: once a weapon is obtained, whether in Crucible / Gambit / PvE, it’s a one-time thing. Triumph done. Ornaments, for these particular weapons, which, so far, look cheap and unattractive, is via PvP or PvE, as desired, to complete the Triumph. The problem is, there’s usually 3x Triumphs required - Gambit / Crucible / Strikes. To solve this issue, make a single Triumph for a) the weapon and b) the ornament - with the option to complete it via one’s preferred activity. Oh, and upgrade the design of the ornaments, too. Just my 2d worth. YMMV. Cheers! MDGA 👈

Agreed, the new rank based system usually just means I get the weapon during IB and then ignore the ornaments. There is plenty in the game that isn't worth the time, but those ornaments are close to the top of the list. I know their data has to show a lot of people are just choosing to not get them.
-
1 ReplyI don't mind the grind for the weapon initially or the ornament for a second reset, it's having to obtain it for the other two activities as well. If they would implement a system that recognizes this: say as an example, you got from Vanguard, it should replace the Crucible and Gambit weapon with just the ornament for the first reset never needing a second reset. It's the same weapon no matter what, why do we need to grind for weapon three times? Especially for Triumphs and the fact we are hopefully back on track with a regular season rotation again, as many players also have issues with the activities needed to grind the ritual weapon (depending on your own personal take of those activities). Just my thought on this subject anyway.

Focusing on doing one activity over, and over, and over again is absolutely dreadful.
If you remember, everyone complained about the old system because it required you to play all activities over and over and over. If you want the ritual weapon in the current system, play what you want and you will get the weapon. It is a far less grindy system if your goal is to get the weapon.
-
Nah, I like the new system much better. Because I can keep playing whatever, and I know eventually, I would get the gun. Even the ornament. It's actually pretty fast if you go the Vanguard or Crucible route, especially during a double XP week. As for the ornament, well, those are optional. The only minor complaint I have is that the ornaments are tied to challenges, which means, some players might not get 300-900 bright dust. But I would say that the problem of the challenges and maybe Bungie should replace those challenges.
-
3 RepliesNah. I don't need a quest and getting X amount of kills with a certain weapon type. I'd rather just get the gun as I play.
-
Most of them have been terrible anyway until they get better weapons as a seasonal ritual don’t bother
