I’m not sure if it’s just me but I do miss being able to change the type of sight you could have on a weapon, some of the older weapons have them and only a small handful of current pool weapons if any have them also
Surely in the world of crafting we should have the option to do this?
Sight, barrel, magazine and 2 perks
Anyone else concur or am I just going nuts in my old age?
Edit: example weapons I could find was Eternal Blazon Scout Rifle

Bringing back sight perks would make too much sense though...

4 RepliesYes! I used to love having iron sights or mid rang holo sights on my auto, a mid to long range sight on a pulse and decent snap sights on a good sniper. Where did that customization go. And why remove something so personal

Edited by Golden_Apple: 4/27/2022 12:48:47 PMWhy? There's obviously a scope meta for each particular weapon archetype/category. Model 8 red, Fastdraw HCs, shortgaze, Ambush, Suros Hologram sights are just a few obvious ones for their low zoom. No one's gonna use Longview SRs or some clunky sight that negs handling or has too much zoom magnification. Waste of code.
-
I agree. I love the Hakke Heror-C because it's basically a Halfdan-D. But the sights are just too zoomed. I remember I had a Halfdan-D with a short range sight. It was so good for CQB.

Used to love Sight options on weapons back in D1, Destiny 2 has some weapons yeah but very small selection and usually older weapons have these options. The weapons with these options truly felt like i could play around with the perks and in a way, it just felt gave my weapon a custom personality.

Im a modular guy, I loved the sight options because then Id have no need to swap weapons. Just swap sights. I find removing them bec a select people thought it wasn't useful is a laxy and insulting excuse. Especially since there are just as many people who preferred it as was.

1 ReplyThey explained that there was no reason to model many scopes for weapons because ultimately the community would decide which scope was best and everybody would use that (think shortgaze and ambush for sniper scopes). No point in modeling scopes and sights of nobody’s gonna use them. Easier to decide how you want the gun to look and give it a sight that works the way you want it to, especially since they’ve been moving away from modular “vanilla” weapon models

Edit: example weapons I could find was Eternal Blazon Scout Rifle[/quote] I’d like this as long as the sights don’t have zooms. Smgs ran into that problem where if it didn’t have 17 zoom it was crap. Piece of mind is now the only rapid fire with 19 zoom and have made the others before it crap with the exception of time worn. On maps as small as destiny adding zoom only creates power creep unless the weapon type already extends to the map limits like scout rifles. If they are like hand cannons that have sights but adds no zoom then I’m all for it. It’s bad enough having 4-5 pulses in scout rifle territory.
-
Wouldn’t even mind if these were just cosmetic adjustments we could make on weapons so that they’re aren’t tied to the range and zoom stat.
-
Tbh I feel like most ARs/SMGs/Scouts should just have a iron sights , the foundry standard sight , an a random roll

I miss having a scope-like attachment on vision of confluence back in D1

2 RepliesApparently there is some sort of data limit on weapons which makes it to where they can only have so many perks, and perk options on them. They can’t physically fit barrel and Sight options on the same weapon due to this. (This is something that Azecross mentioned before so take it with a grain of salt)

If I can be honest, I'd trade battles for sights any day, I like different sights on my guns, not differently named barrels that don't change the model.
-
Since crafting is now a thing, yeah it would be nice to simply choose our sights.

Edited by Pjerisimus: 4/26/2022 1:01:20 PMI remember getting excited whenever I got shortgaze sight on ldr or longbow back in D1. Good times...

Absolutely!!! Only if it adds a few more hours to my crafting grind. I’m all in.

1 ReplyYep. Some idiot at bungie is in charge of what is best for us. It’s not working

I hate how the 540 PR all have those acog style scopes. It reminds me of cod warzone SMG blueprints 😂 and I hate it
-
Edited by The Hermit IX: 4/26/2022 12:45:15 AMIt should have its own column. Bad recoil or the wrong zoom on a weapon can make it difficult to use or a less viable option.

Bungie should definitely bring back the option to change sights.
