Glassway GM NF --- seriously tho...

I always eyeroll when I see a complaint post on here. Yet, here I am. Grandmaster Glassway is NOT FUN. GM is supposed to be challenging, right? It's not impossible but definitely not something a pickup group can finish. Splash damage needs a serious nerf bat. Overload stun is broken as it takes damn near an entire magazine to stun the overpowered overload champs that can 1 shot melee you, while being invisible AND have splash damage that kills you even if you are around a corner. Seriously, tune that splash damage down. I'm not saying make it easy. I'm saying make it fun. This weeks shotgun prize sucks anyway. Double rewards don't give me enough incentive to blow 30+ mins just to wipe on the first wave of champs. My ask - overload stun takes way too much AR Ammo to trigger. Especially when the champ has a rapid-fire machine gun ball of death attack that just makes me want to uninstall. FIX THAT, please. GM splash damage needs a serious nerf. I'm not trying to hear any clap backs from your try-hards that have been playing with your fireteam for years. I am a PuG player who likes a challenge. Just not a sadistically long encounter where you do well getting to the boss and then have the boss wipe its @ss with you in the first 3 mins of the encounter. I've tried this over 10 times. Same result everytime. Do well clearing the trash and just get wrecked when the first wave of champs show up.

  • Just needs a reduction in champions. There are more champs in the boss room than in most other GMs.

          I see it written, so just to reiterate...run shadebinder with stasis torrent. The more on the team the better. Play in the left room and funnel the champs towards the middle door and have the torrets set up so they freeze when they enter the room. Dont overdamage the small boss. Use the supers to pick up a res or on the wyverns (they dont do much damage to the overloads). Thats all there is to Glassway. Otherwise i agree the overload AR/SMG needs tuning. If enough people agree and stop saying its a skill issue Bungie may actually adjust it.

        • I can't comment on the rest of your observations, but I've had lots of problems with overload stunning this season. It seems like I hear the "stunned" noise and see the stunned message, but they keep moving...

        • Completed this with 2 other randos from LFG, didn't seem to be an issue. I'll agree, they do hit a lot harder, but GM? If you are having trouble with this strike I suggest learning the encounter thoroughly before attempting the GM version. The spawns are VERY predictable and once learnt can be dealt with easily.

          • Yeah tried this a few times and only managed to complete it with a divinity user My only complaint is how easy you can be one shot. Only gotta peek out cover and you’re done which can be frustrating as it’s not necessarily a skill issue I’m not looking forward to light blade next week for my gilded 😂

          • if you get your hands on the new warlock boots that overload enemies you can empower rift infront of the left portal and shoot the overload to hell with ghally or just bring a div. having a witherhoard and normal rockets help a lot. and lucent finisher is such a frine crutch if you manage to finish champs you practically have infinite heavy for the ads. dont worry about dpsing the boss just clear ads as priority. overload nades on void are amazing you have quite a few options to better the team. someone not on the mic? instant kick for all I care.

            • Kinda skill issue tbh. All the ad spawns are based off how much health the boss and mini boss has. Dont go melting either of them to make them go away otherwise you will get overwhelmed by ads and die. Divinity is pretty much a requirement if you dont wanna lose your sanity while dealing with overloads here, or at the very least someone should have a build going on that lets them get their overload grenades fast enough. Blinding nades also work on the mini boss so it would be a good idea to bring them with you. Its not impossible to do Glassway with random people you just met but you will have a higher chance with premade group. Also the drop this week is silicon neuroma, not the shotgun.

            • Seems like it was easier this time around. My team and I did it first try. It was stupid hard a few seasons ago tho ngl. We had a void hunter and warlock and a stasis warlock. I ran divinity as the voidlock. Our hunter used gjallarhorn and our stasislock used Arbalest. Load out optimization will make or break your gm runs regardless of the strike.

            • I have beaten Glassway GMs 7x and i beat it first try this season. If you can’t beat it with void 3.0 you are just bad. Controlling the wyverns/Minotaurs is priority. Ghally/Div helps

            • It’s very ez to spawn trap the left overload with divinity and threaded needle/void rocket launchers. With the void burn the divinty crits from threaded needle crush the vex overloads; that way you only have to fight one overload at a time which can be managed with bleakwatcher The biggest problem people run into with that strike is not putting the overloads down fast, divinity + threaded needle or void rocket launcher is near instant kill

                • I would say normally its not that bad but jesus. Champions overflow you so bad you need to eliminate so fast just to not have ammo or consistent dps strat for boss

                  The stun seems to proc half way through the mag so use a weapon with a lower magazine count Or fire some of the rounds off and get it closer to half empty and then shoot the champ As an fyi the champ takes increased damaged once stunned
