Does anyone actually use the raid mods for Vow?

Are they worth the hassle? It seems like they are all geared for exhibition encounter and final stands. Do I bother masterworking raid sets? If that raid mod slot also supported the artifact mods like artifice dungeon armor, I would masterwork a set for all 3 and try the mods myself. Thanks

  • I would like to use the mods but none of the armor pieces i got so far got stats that works with my build. So unless i get a 30-ish dis/30-ish rec armor piece i cant really replace my current pieces

  • Umbral Sharpening can make a difference during Rhulk's last stand but other than that I don't bother with them.

  • Do people generally use raid mods? I definitely don't because I'd rather have one armor set I can use across the board rather than 8 for each piece of content

    • The Raid isn't worth the hassle, far less the Mods...

I've got all the available raid titles except Rivensbane (wasn't playing when LW came out), and I've used 1 raid mod EVER. It was slightly helpful on master VoG to break oracles more quickly for boss challenge, but that's it. Edit: if you're going to use them, class item is usually the easiest piece to utilize.

            • Raid mods ARE useful, but nit necessary. That goes for vow, VOG, DSC, etc.

              • I have a set just for the raid. I only use the umbral sharpening for 3rd encounter/boss abd the grenade damage increase mod on the solar mod. The 40% weapon increase buff from 4 mods when affected by 4 stacks of darkness or more really helps clear out tougher ads like the glyphkeepers or for dealing out more damage during damage phase if you let yourself get hit a couple times (or even for last stand if you're low on ammo). The grenade damage mod stacks with roaring flames and death throes, essentially giving you x4 grenade damage if any of these are combined with x4 of the grenade mods. You can pretty much nuke any champions even without stunning them. Each mod also gives shorter grenade regen (I think each mod is equivalent to 20 disciple, so don't feel the need to spec into disciple on your armour for this). If roaring flames becomes a fragment in solar 3.0, I'm gonna run that on my warlock with death throes and the grenade mods in Vow. Theoretically, I could do x8 grenade damage with this (would require alot of setup to do though).

                • Yes umbral sharpening is very good, especially if you want to consistently 2-floor caretaker and/or one-phase Rhulk. 4 mods with 4x stacks of pervading darkness grant a 40% damage buff, once the buff goes away it reverts back to high energy fire if you’re still charged with light. You really don’t need artifice armor for the raid.

                  • Honestly, I’m still trying to figure out how raid mods work now. I’ve gotten a couple to drop for Last Wish and I can’t figure out how to equip them. Do they go on certain gear? Do you have to physically be in the raid? What’s up with these?

                    • Sharpening and the nade damage mod are worth it. 1 sharpening is 20%. 4 sharpening is 40% more damage. 4 nade mods is a 3x grenade damage buff when not debuffed. So a fusion nade with heart of inmost light X2 outdamages a izanagi X5 crit.
