Solution add weapon xp to bounties for crafted weapons and attuned weapons.

The best suggestion I've seen: random roll weapons should level any crafted version of the same weapon you have. I like it because it means you would be incentivised to use the strongest version of a gun you have at any time. You'd only start using the shaped version once it was actually better. Right now the gameplay loop is to use a bad low level weapon in order to level it up, then once it's finally good and you don't need to level it anymore you... switch to another bad weapon to level? So you're just perpetually using your worst weapons? I don't get it.

1 ReplyThe real crux of the issue is the activities you have to play to level them up are the ones people simply do not want to be playing anymore. Strikes, Gambit and Crucible are not in a good place.

2 RepliesIt varies from weapon to weapon. Even with the Grasp of Avarice cave, levelling up weapons like Rockets and Snipers is painful because the primary means of levelling up i.e. killing vast quantities of enemies is not what they're good at. I think a nice solution would be allowing us to "infuse" regular versions of an item into a crafted one. For example, I could consume a normal version of a Palmyra-B and "feed" it to a crafted one, giving a flat amount of weapon XP. It could add a little bit of value to duplicate drops, and if you know you're going to craft something soon then you can hold onto any regular ones you have so you can turn them in later.

1 ReplyEdited by JD: 4/23/2022 7:26:41 PMUhm NO it’s 10x faster than farming a god roll. You can literally pick your own perks. The trade off is worth the time.

Edited by redmosquito87: 4/24/2022 2:22:17 AMSurefire way to kill the player population after a couple of weeks in a season. Crafting will only work if it takes a while to craft things. Otherwise crafting turns into static rolls.

55 RepliesYou get a lot of xp for completing activities. Do activities and enjoy the game and your weapons will level up in no time. Farming ads isn’t that efficient and it gets boring fast.

4 RepliesEdited by xBeAsTx: 4/22/2022 8:07:37 PMlol can't wait for these down votes. But you are literally given the oportunity to build your god roll instead of spending countless weeks trying to obtain a random drop in the wild. Before everyone complained about farming for the opportunity to get something, and now everyone complains about putting in work for a guarenteed set of perks of your choosing that can be adjusted at any time. All I have to say is this: If you want to not have to grind for -blam!-, Destiny is not for you and never has been. If you want things placed in your lap go play some CoD. Stop trying to push influence to make this game something it was never intended to be. I don't own every god roll of every weapon out there - not even a quarter of them - and that's how I like it. If people were awarded XP for all the complaining they do about the game instead of just enjoying the game everyone would be in the 1700 power right now. But personally thinking, something so custom and so attuned should be more difficult to level up than it would be in a crucible faction rank. No bounties are needed, no changes should be made. If anything, it should take longer to level these weapons up.

I think the big thing is that to craft this stuff, you have to use that and that exclusively for a really kinda long time. Like glaives will be trash after this season is over, their "buff" won't change that, I'd rather use that, but kinda need to work on leveling this stuff. Maybe I have infinite time to level it maybe I don't. They haven't specified and usually when bungie doesn't tell you something.... But we'll see...

1 ReplyCrafting guarantee you do get 100% what you want. I played 100+ games of the most hated PvE activity D2 has had and never got even a decent Spare Rations to drop. Crafting vs RNG is totally fine. Even too generous I’d argue.

2 Repliesthe point is the game doesn't respect you're play time it shouldn't take 3 hours to get a gun to level 30 just to put a memento on it and this is coming from a player that has been playing since d1 beta and done every activity some us want to play the game and not sit at shuro chi or strikes all day, but hey what do I know and secondly the crafting in destiny has to be some of if not the worst I've seen in a game the lack of selection and customization is awful people forget when you craft something in other games you did the hard part you collected the material to make said item.

Run solo dungeons. idk if it's just Striga but I level that gun up 3 times in 1 solo run of Pit last night. Also, Throne World is a 1 to 1, 1 kill is 1%; Throne World and Throne World settings - raid/strikes etc will probably be your best bet but regardless, once you've unlocked all perks there is no reason to level it up further. After level 18 on legendaries, level 10 for Striga and level 4! for the glaives... there's no reason to level it up and further other than to flex. I understand Memento's have unlocks at lvl 10, 20 and 30.. but it's all cosmetic stuff so it's something of a time investment at least.. not a good one but it's what we get. Personally, I think every craftable gun should have an ornament unlocked at lvl 100 as a long term goal for crafted weapons.

1 ReplyI think the issue is that it’s too boring and mundane. And the fact there’s far too many materials for no other reason than grinding is just lazy. Additionally, the enhanced perks don’t make the weapon that much better anyways so there’s really no point. There’s more incentive to grind for an Adept weapon than a crafted weapon and far less tedious.

13 RepliesEdited by Demon_XXVII: 4/21/2022 3:15:10 PMCrafted weapons are barely worth levelling up Firstly the hamster wheel grind to reach level 30+ Then the costs involved to change perks - the player has to repurchase & redraft - using up materials/costs/resources (just to switch a single perk) And then there’s finding a near god roll weapon out in the wild & not being able to recalibrate the perk or masterwork that would need changing (Plus the obvious threat of Bungie nerfing perks after players had spent time & in game materials/resources acquiring them) Crafting is disappointing in its design, application & worth to a player

Edited by TheShadow: 4/23/2022 3:39:13 PMIt's kind of funny seeing post like this. Everytime something is adjusted, Bungie literally looks for something else in the game to put you guys right back in the same situation. It's literally pointless to request anything from this company. It's actually a joke that is beyond stupid. Take the venders ranking system for example. Sure they added new things to them, but at the cost of doubling the time to acquire the items. The joke is on you guys thinking they actually "listen".

I think they should add back motes of light from d1 as end of game rewards from various things like strikes, crucible, gambit, raids etc. The biggest issue is that we cant take unleveled crafted weapons in the activities we actually want to play, so being able to earn rewards from said activities to level them would be the best solution in my book. In d1 you could pop a mote of light and all equipped weapons would get xp. I think the same system could work wonders for crafted weapons in d2.

3 RepliesThere are a lot of people in here who don’t know the difference between leveling a Redbox weapon and a crafted weapon, and it’s concerning that they are speaking so confidently about something they are so wrong about Idiots

1 ReplyWhen I first heard we could "craft" weapons in WQ... First thoughts were..great..I can put descent sights on a gun that's pretty decent, but the sight picture sucks. Lol...you'd think I'd know better by now.
-
Granted that I wish it was faster, but I understand why it isn't.

3 RepliesI'd be fine with how slow the progression is if I was allowed to pick perks I actually wanted and then level those up. I have zero desire to craft a weapon with garbage perks and then grind said garbage weapon until I can eventually unlock perks I like. We're being asked to level up weapons that we would otherwise immediately dismantle.

3 RepliesDon't you feel "connected" with your newly shaped awesome monster killing machine? You definitely should, while sitting at shuro'chi for 20 hours shooting thralls to level up your gun. :) Such an awesome and great system. Every single person i know and see just hops into the lw shuro chi cp to level crafted weapons, extract materials and do catalysts. That's such a trash system, people hate it so much that they do it as a chore in the most boring way possible just because it is the most efficient way. Guess who predicted it turning exactly into this grindy chore it is now the very second Bungie announced crafting lol.

Solution add weapon xp to bounties for crafted weapons and attuned weapons.
Weapon crafting is completely broken. Why would anyone want anything but enhanced perks on these things? Anything else is just a waste of resources. D1 actually had this right - with xp on the weapon that unlocked better perks the more you used it. Apply that here and avoid all weapon crafting nonsense- it’s not like we have the freedom to actually select any perk we want for a particular weapon. Just have the weapon drop randomly and use weapon xp to unlock the enhanced perks that it drops with…

2 RepliesI guess I might be displaying some ignorance here, but I assumed, f'rinstance, that all auto rifles had the same perk pool. E.G. any auto rifle could drop with Demolitionist or could drop with Firefly. This is obviously not the case with Craftable Weapons. Sweet Sorrow can have Demolitionist but Come to Pass cannot. Come to Pass can have Firefly, but Sweet Sorrow cannot. I consider this a limitation. The difference between the two is mainly ROF. Also, couldn't Bungie have picked a better selection to start the fancy new crafting with? At least be reasonable to start with. The Scout Pointed Inquiry is far too slow a fire rate. The Fusion Rifle has buggerall effective damage. You wouldn't use either if they were plain old drops. And, Red Herring as a craft weapon! I swear every second Power Weapon drop is a Red Herring. You're bound to get an equal-to-craft roll in a few days. About the only thing the Pulse Rifle has going to for it is Headseeker, and Headseeker is reasonably common with standard old drops. I had high expectations for Crafting, but lousy offerings, and yuuuge kills to get anywhere, soured my expectation. Mind you, Bungie sours a lot of my expectations!

Yeah, I had to do a WHOLE strike the other day, just to level one up!
