Grasp of Avarice master at 1590 is a bit ridiculous

It was easy to achieve the required light level to play the master difficulty last season because it was so long. My entire clan had access to it no problem. This season is a totally different story. With 4 and 1/2 weeks left in the season, a majority of my clan can’t even set foot in there. The content is not realistically obtainable for them and it’s just not right. At this rate, our casual players won’t be able to participate in the activity before season reset. Maybe lower the bar 10 light levels next time?

  • The problem is the rewards don't match the high entrance fee. If it's higher level than the master raid, then it should have better loot. Why don't the Master Dungeon weapons have multiple perks to make farming them easier?

    • The requirement to reach +30 in order to simply be at parity is beyond stupid and completely disrespectful of the players. +20 is more than enough, not everyone no life's this game. If you've hit +20 by week 6 you're dedicated enough.

    • Meanwhile Master Vow is chilling at 1580 where pretty much anyone can get in. A Raid is now more accessible then a Dungeon. Endgame is a mess.

      • Totally. I'm a dad and teacher, and I will just never have the time to commit to grinding to that level. It's not that I don't enjoy playing harder content, I do. Bungie makes it so I can't possibly engage. I don't really play any other games, but I still won't make level. Feels like a pretty raw deal as well considering it is paid content.

        • Barely 3% of players even bother with dungeons already and far less with the Master version. Maybe this is one of the reasons why. The effort/reward ratio is not very well balanced for the most part.

            • I wish they would ditch power level altogether, its pointless and only serves to gate content. Setting content to +30 above the pinnacle cap is a bit ridiculous unless you can play 30+ hours a week.

              • Well, I am finding that almost AlL activities are harder then they used to be. I suspect that this is because Bungie has the idea that their player base remains the same, and just gets better at it. There doesn't seem to be much scope for new players. This isn't really a whinge, as I am not going to get any better at this stage, but it is an observation.

                The game does not expect you to be 1590. Only no lifers can reach that. Anyone can beat master GOA as long as they see red swords. 1571 is minimum. 1581 to meet the power delta. It is 8 weeks into the season. By now at this point in the game, everyone here should be max armor cap and around season rank 200.

                • It's not impossible. I used to bullseye womp rats in my T-16 back home, they're not much bigger than two meters.

                    • I agree! Last night, me and two of my buddies played it. We got past the huge orgore, but the sparrow time thing we couldn't because the adds nuked us. It's is ridiculous that Bungie put the level at 1590, and the time part is bull crap too. Bungie, please make content fun not annoying!

                      • No reason for master activities to be 30 above the pinnacle cap. Master activities should be 20 above the pinnacle cap and not a single light level more.

                      • 1590 is a bit high, but my complaint (and it's not a new one)is that by the time you're able to complete mastergrasp, you dont care about the rewards.. This is a recurring Bungo problem

                      • The answer to this is to remove levelling COMPLETELY! It locks casuals out of certain activities and levelling is NOT content! If they want to make things harder put the artificial power decrease in like they do for GMs and contest mode.

                        • I do wonder why we get Armor with a Artifact Slot but no extra Mod Capacity. Honestly, if you killed the last Boss on Master and got your Gjallarswift, you’re good to go.

                        • 1581 is the magic number. Remember that the exact number is not as important as the range. 1571-1580 red bars are swords. A nuisance, nothing more. Yellow bars, champions, and bosses will wreck you, though. I would not recommend being below 1571. They kill tok quick and you take so long to kill, that it's not enjoyable. I'm only running Master until I get a full Artifice set.

                        • That place is, on master difficulty, to get an armor set that has the extra slot for it. That is why it is 1590. Those armors with one extra seasonal mod, particularly on gauntlets? Are invaluable. Getting a few fireteams runs on bounty experience once a week on a single character season long has me at 1580 today. I don't need the armor set, but once a week? 30+ bounties + blinding light (exp gains give an extra 12% on the top) + exp++ bounties from planet vendors doesn't take long and you can team up for a group run (raids) and do those bounties too. I get players don't do bounties for strikes, gambit, and crucible, but seriously... you can do grandmasters if you want in a season and that is phenominal.

                        • Yeah if it wasn’t just armor I would of done it last season but the rewards weren’t justified.

                        • It's fairly useless when you get armor that drops at barely 62 or 63... always with the stats you don't want.

                              They already confirmed they are dropping Master raids and dungeons to +20 above pinnacle rather than +30 next season. So next season instead of Grasp jumping to 1600 power it will remain at 1590.
