We can now craft a limited amount of weapons with the launch of the new season. I think that is great and extremely exciting, after fighting with RNJesus to drop us enough deep-sight weapons we can craft the desired weapon we so desperately want. Honestly they should have added all the world drop weapons to be craft-able and not just a select few from Witch Queen DLC. In the future I hope they also add ritual playlist weapons to The Enclave to craft whatever we want! Right now we have some phenomenal weapons that we can craft with some serious synergy but I believe it can better even better with one change.
Before in Destiny 1 and the first year of Destiny 2 we could get the same weapons over and over again but with different damage types, it didn't break the game. Just allowed us to use what we loved in any activity at the time to match the shields in high level activities with whatever gun we loved. The gun still has its identity with its archetype staying the same and a perk-pool to choose from, just now the damage type can change from being Stasis to Kinetic or to being Arc.
They could limit it to stay in the slot it is currently in. If it was originally Stasis then it can switch between Kinetic and Stasis. Or if it was Solar then it can change to Arc or Void! They add the requirement to change the damage type on craft-able weapons to be level 20 where it gives a small boost to all stats. with this change it would make any weapon more appealing to use with builds, like we are currently doing with well mods and void/stasis fragments on my subclasses. We can keep our favorite guns throughout any activity and use it how we please.
If you bring up the special case like Stasis special weapon "Deliverance" you won't be able to change it to kinetic unless bungie allows it and I see no real issue with it bring kinetic, I think of it as a charged up shotgun at that point if you want to be a smartass. Heavy weapon that deal Stasis can change being all current burns that are in the game. The Perk revolving around Stasis called "Chill Clip" can be disabled once it is no longer stasis be forced to choose a different perk when Reshaping or they can keep it activated to give a more unique identity.
I know if they ever do this change that it will literally become Weapons 3.0 because of how much the U.I. will be different to implement. But to keep it as simple as it can, all guns stay in their designated slot for the time being but can change damage types freely except for"Deliverance" since its a legendary fusion, first of its kind being allowed in the primary slot. That can remain as stasis damage type unless the developers see no issue with fusions being kinetic. If you say "what about "Bastion" it won't be special anymore" Bruh its a 3 burst fusion that stuns champions as a kinetic. Hell it kills supers in crucible with one burst, if that's in the game then anything can be possible.
I know I will definitely get criticized for this but I prefer that they do not add adept weapons to be crafted since it will make other weapons obsolete right there but instead what they can do is give them guaranteed enhanced perks that way we can grind out the activity and get the g-roll we want. If you're putting in the effort to get the adept version though hard activities to complete they should be able to have enhanced traits, sure we no longer would need a normal version of it but it means we put the time and sweat into getting what we wanted to let go of the original, or keep it and still switch around perks. This will also lock them to be the original damage type only and give crafted weapons that aren't Adept another reason to use them over the adepts.
Let me know what you think, just don't be a donkey about it and don't attack others

Shame on you but whatever I'll say it anyways, allow Craft-able guns at level 20 to change their damage types to be Arc/Kinetic/Void/Solar/Stasis

1 ReplyWe used to be able to do this . It ruined the loot pool, it caused us to never change guns.
