I thought Crow was gonna get the job? Is there a reason they haven’t replaced Cayde yet? Is there an actually lore reason the post is still Vacant as of this season?

Hire Shiro-4. Done.
-
Because all hunters fled the tower like cowards until the end of season of arrivals. But idk if they fled again. (Read tommy's matchbook and listen to the dialogue from the live event)

well for one, crow isn’t experienced enough yet. for two, no hunter wants the job. not even cayde wanted it. and zavala and ikora have their hands full with all the hullabaloo happening, so the urgency to “hire a new guy” has been put on the back burner. i, for one, would love to see shiro take that place! even if he doesn’t, i’m still hoping he makes a return sometime soon!

Edited by Tâxx, Herald of the IRS: 4/19/2022 7:01:10 PMCrow isn't ready and frankly doesn't deserve it. Why hasn't another Hunter been promoted? Because Hunters hate responsibility and being stuck in one place. Nobody wants the Hunter Vanguard job and are actually avoiding the Tower so they don't get forced into it.
-
Crow doesn't deserve it and no one else wants it. At first all the hunters were scattered and in disarray but I think we are used to it now and don't want a Vanguard.
-
Yeah, this hunter vanguard situation is getting pretty damn old and so is the rift between Zavala and Ikora.
-
2 RepliesCrow doesn't deserve the position- it's as simple as that. People can cry for the Hunter Dare as much as they want but frankly, it can be damned for all anyone is concerned since it doesn't apply to him any more than it would a Hive Knight or something. If Hunters genuinely need a Vanguard, then the most capable would be a toss up between Eris, Shiro-4, or even Shaw Han (as much as people would disagree, he's got more responsibility than 99% of all the other Hunters actively avoiding said position which even includes characters like Ana Bray). Personally, I'd go with Shiro since he has both the discipline and experience to take up the role- something that I think Eris and Shaw would lack in one or the other.

I think eventually we are going to get the "welcome to the jungle" thing he said back when people said they story changed...from sources. I know marvel actors lie pretty well, even to their significant others.

5 RepliesCrow is incapable of fulfilling the role and this season proves it beyond a doubt. How can someone how had their Ghost held hostage as a way to force them into servitude not understand the concept of actions have consequences. How can someone thinking having the Light makes them special and deserving of special treatment when they know they were a scumbag in life and, more importantly, the whole Warlords being subjugated and some even killed? Kinda proves that having Light doesn’t mean you are good or deserving of anything. He’s all arrogance, even when he screwed up and risked the alliance he still had his head up his butt. The character is poorly written and it’s obvious they are just jamming his “development” to shoehorn stuff in. Ugh. Whoever is writing his arc shouldn’t be called a writer.

1 ReplyHe is still the new guy and learning the ropes. From a literary perspective, he still needs to under go more character development before he is ready. That's why we see him act out so much this season and learn about consequences of his actions. Also it's possible the vanguard will fall soon, which is why bungie haven't had him fill that role. We've seen in plenty of recent lore and in campaign, where ikora and Zavala made some major mistakes and considered stepping down or dismantling the vanguard.

Crow definitely shouldn’t be the vanguard. Especially after this seasons story
