Xbox PC - error 0x803F8001

I know that Destiny 2 was leaving Xbox Game Pass, but I read that it would still be available on PC as long as you own expansions. I own them call but this morning I'm not able to open the application. I'm getting this error. Anyone else having this issue? Destiny 2 is currently not available in your account. Make sure you are signed in to the Store and try again. Here’s the error code, in case you need it: 0x803F8001

    If you're on Xbox app, and originally downloaded the game from game pass, all you have to do is go to your library, click on destiny 2. then you'll see a button in red that says "Installed" or "play/ Play Free". Instead of this one, click the one right next to get that says "Get Free +". This will add the license's of the "Free" version of the game to your library. Not the game pass version. What happened was, depending on the version the Xbox Game Pass had available, once it left the game pass, so did the license. Even if you own the expansions, you need a new license. instead of removing and redownloading, this is a solution that worked for me. Hopefully this helps. GG.

More information through [url=https://help.bungie.net/hc/en-us/articles/360054430692-Destiny-2-on-Xbox-Game-Pass-for-Console-and-PC?_ga=2.106988994.1563963670.1648469708-260284926.1644554664]Bungie's Help Article[/url]. As with other games that leave the Game Pass, when Destiny 2 left the pass, access to that content was removed.

        I’ve embarrassingly determined the issue. I should have done it before posting here. I uninstalled the game, then re-installed, and the problem went away. It did have to buy Shadowkeep, but I don’t think I purchased that one. It came with Game Pass I’m pretty sure. It was only $13 so not a big deal. But if you have this same issue, try removing and reinstalling the game. Worked for me.

        • Hello, I have the same error here I bought beyond light deluxe and Witch queen deluxe edition trough microsoft store How comes I cant play? How exactly do I restore my licences am on Win 10

            Your error is a Microsoft Store error concerning the logged-in account not having valid access to run the intended program. This is unusual since Destiny 2 should be available to everyone. Unfortunately, as it is a Microsoft Store error and related entirely to the Microsoft Store trying to launch the game, Bungie can do nothing to assist you. You'll need to contact Microsoft concerning help with your Microsoft Store App launching issue.
