Imagine if you could "TURN" the square shader
A simple button that rotate 🔄 the shader in one direction. (Apple have already done it, now can Bungie?)
That would invite to really interesting creations indeed!
If you want a red helmet but do not find a shader that fits, just press the button 🔄 (until the red where you want it or maybe shift the "hue" to reach a color that is acceptable.
That would satisfy a lot of people i could imagine!

Shaders are so bad in this game. I just wish I could pick my own colors

5 RepliesEdited by SheprdOfFire: 4/1/2022 3:37:55 PMOr better yet, I just want shaders to give colors that are actually in the shader and not a random color thats no where to be seen in the shader.

I think what you're asking would be too difficult to program for the dev's to implement since customization doesn't seem to be in their portfolio. However, the one request I do have is for the colors in the shader to actually match what is applied to the armor/weapon. How, on God's green earth does an all black shader turn to neon blue? Or a green shader come out gold?

2 RepliesEdited by Demon_XXVII: 4/1/2022 9:52:55 AMI’ve been asking for shader rotation for years A shader (split into the four quadrants) with the dominant colour at 12’o’Clock 🕛 🔽 ▶️ 🔄 ◀️ 🔼 Rotate 90° clockwise/anti, for primary colour change! (Oh & shader sort/favourites too - 5? 10?)

Yeah the Bungie shader thing is almost embarrassing at this point. It's not that shaders are important, it's just that coloring you character in other games is so much better and intuitive. You don't have to organize a color slider. I guess they're stuck doing it the Bungie way, and proud.

Color. Pallet.

I really like this idea. Very original👍

Shut up and take my upvote.

The nice thing about d1 and it's 1 colored shaders that still look better! Like those old raid shaders that where epic!

1 ReplyThey can't even make a shader icon that matches the actual colour.

4 RepliesDude, so many years and Bongo still can't make simple black shader, must be someone with brain damage in charge of them

Edited by Ghostfire239: 4/1/2022 6:28:09 PMI’ve said before and i’lll say it again, we should scrap shaders, and just have a colouring system similar too Warframe but for each individual piece of gear (along with texture options) Shaders are just limiting. You have little control over how it applies to your gear, not mention that certain colour combination aren’t possible unless Bungie makes a shader for it. It would be great for the players and for Bungie. Players get much more freedom over their look, and Bungie no longer has to spend time and resources making these shitty shaders.

3 RepliesWish each shader we could have an option to swap thru 4 different orders. Because some shaders have better 2nd and 3rd colors that I would want as the prime.
-
3 RepliesI can only assume it is way more difficult than it seems because nothing else makes -blam!- sense...
-
That’s actually a great idea. Just rotate the swatch by pressing “x” and it cycles though

2 RepliesThat's why we have like a billion shaders... So yah can just go find a red one.
