The Powers of Light and Dark
Wanted to reach out to all you lore fanatics and pose another question. Do you think it will be possible that we the guardians will be able to harness the powers of light and dark without the traveler or the black fleet being present?
When we fought eramis we harnessed darkness not from an object but from within ourselves, therefore, could we do the same with the light?
This would completely change how we move forward, imagine not having to defend the traveler.

When the Gardner made paracausal power, there was no Light or Dark. It’s just raw power. So each “brand” should exist due to its creator. The power should go away when the creator bites the bucket. From a storytelling position, this is the only way to go. This is a good way to prevent troublesome powers from running amok, thus you don’t have to ham fist some happy ending in, and is the only way to neatly tie off the Dark and Light Saga. If the powers persist, then the saga can’t end.

11 Replies<Probably. The Traveler and Winnower don't dictate the existence of Light and Dark anymore. You could kill them both and both powers would still exist.>

1 Replymost likely but not to cause harm. maybe use light to cook some food or warm a bath... dark to preserve food or make a slurpee.

1 ReplyI'm pretty sure we can use the light without the traveler, it happened in year 1, we just needed to find a bit left over that our ghost could use
