Why does everyone think Kat is hot?
I don't know how the original conversation went, but I can imagine people playing co-op:
Player 1: Alright, everyone ready?
Player 2: Yeah! Let's play some co-op!
Player 1: OMGZ! It's a female Spartan!
Player 3: Whoa, really? Wow, it is!
Player 4: Maybe she'll have sex with us later in the campaign!

i personally think that Bungie tried to make her as unattractive as possible. They gave her a short dike haircut, manly facial scars, and a deep voice.... uhm.... I'd say people are basically talking about a guy.

Looking at the responses in here its no wonder gamers get labeled at fat, perverted, cheetos eating losers who live in their parents basements, dont get laid, and have no jobs!! I guess I will give the benefit of the doubt and chalk it up to the fact most posters thinking an imaginary video game character on thier TV is "hot" are between the ages of 10-12, and still have some faith in the video game community....
