Caiatl's vision of the religious practices and beliefs of the Psions tell us they believed everyone is connected in death.
This instantly drew a connection to the Final Abyss the Disciple talked about which turns out to be the true meaning of the Final Shape.
We know all beings in the Destiny universe came to be after existence bloomed out of the original Garden where the flower game was "played."
Many beings seem to have traits from Light, Dark or some other kind of paracausal function (O Worm Gods and Ahamkara mine)
This leads me to think some beings developed with inherent "Winnower ideologies" such as culling, finality, and death. The Witness is described as a cacophony of thought. It's obsessed with finality. And the Psions, on their own devices, seem to gravitate toward this.
Prior to being assimilated, they too were obsessed with finality. Under Calus, they are led back to these beliefs, as it's their nature to gaze beyond and now, the Black Fleet takes an interest in them. Perhaps Psionic power has a secret dark nature to it?
Anyway, I'm certain the Witness will attempt to establish a link with them as it did with the Scorn.
The Witness is described as a cacophony of thought.
i got a covid booster yesterday and did a fresh run of vow before i went to bed, and i must say my fever dream definatly felt like a "cacophony of thought"

1 ReplyYa know what really bugs me? Psions can read anyones minds and have developed tech that can amplify/bestow their powers to a point where they can render even a light bearer brain dead (first seen in the wipe mechanic in Leviathan). They even developed a near omniscient machine that allows them to see the future, which they built prior to being conquered by the greater Cabal Empire. They can discharge waves of destructive Arc energy and concussive Void too. They even have an elite squad called Flayers that are somewhat proficient in the Fallen art of Splicing, being able to hack the neural networks of Rasputin and insert themselves in. Any enemy, big or small, that has that kind of array of tech and abilities should have overthrown the Cabal a long, long time ago.

<Friendly reminder that apparently Mindscape -blam!- works better when the mind it represents is that of a Lightbearer... and that Psions have manipulated Blight (a purely Dark power) to empower themselves and their commanders...>

2 RepliesWitness be like “Ally with me and I will make Psions great again! You will be forever liberated from servitude to the cabal!”

1 ReplyI like how the Psion helmet ornament for the Warlock this season looks similar to a Vex Goblin head with the right shader equipped. The eye even turns yellow when equipped with the Decedent Vex Chrome shader. The eye stays red with the Mercury Vex Chrome Shader. and the eye turns blue with the Precursor Vex Chrome.
