why does it say master chief is the last spartan when there's
Alive spartan III's; B091 Lucy, B292 Tom, G099 Ash, Olivia, Mark and team katana
Alive spartan II's;Frederic-104, Linda-058, Kelly-087, John-117 and Gray team
can someone clear somethings out. just wondering if these are surviving spartans why does it say master chief is the last?

Because.. Masterchief is the only spartan 2 currently not MIA by the UNSC... other than the like 600 spartan 3's but they don't count Read your Halo 1 PC or Xbox booklet it says right in there that Master chief is the last of the spartan 2's not the last spartan [Edited on 10.29.2010 1:09 PM PDT]

It's been a while since I did the game campaigns, do they ever explicitly state that the Chief is the last Spartan?

To be put simply. We know he isn't the last surviving Spartan because we read the books where the information is from. But the characters in that present time think he is because that's how the story unfolded for them.

there r other spartans because sometimes when u meet up with marines they say i no we called in for back up but i didnt no we would get A spartan and also dont forget johnson is a spartan 1

Game-wise, the MC is the last on alive. Canon-wise, he defenantly is not the last Spartan alive.

Reach happened to get glassed. Masterchief wasn't on Reach. So you kinda get the impression that since Reach is officially under covanent control and glassed that he's the last spartan left.

If you actualy applied your comment to the topic, you would be saying that most of the halo cannon is now non cannon. If he was the last spartan alive at the end of the fall of reach, then any other book or short story that contained a spartan after August 30th is not true, eliminating all other cannon established in the book. Because Spartans Never Die, they are only MiA Chief was the only Recorded spartan that wasn't M.I.A he came to finish the fight, Im sure during halo 2 before he came back he was MIA to earth for a while.
