I thought Asher Mir was annoying but I’m thinking hes pulling ahead in the standings no way no how can he pick up the Vanguard Dare. He’s a whiny little…..who should have been left dead thanks to him we are now another guardian short in the tower, who will he be eliminating next I wonder…🤔

3 RepliesEdited by nonchalantone: 3/25/2022 11:34:10 AMThey're just tearing him down for us, just to build him up and make him worthy. It's annoying for his storyline, yes. But I see the bigger picture as to why they're telling it this way. Meanwhile, our "guardian" is arrogant, -blam!-, takes on EVERY MISSION, and doesn't even speak!!! Talk about non-sociable! At least Asher spoke....lol

1 ReplyI agree. Too soft to be in destiny. Dude needs a sack.

1 ReplyI like Crow as he's an interesting character but I don't trust him and I absolutely do not want him as the Hunter vangaurd. He's essentially a baby having been risen for ... what, a year? And he's naïve, easily manipulated and I still see Uldren's arrogance in him. He almost caused a diplomatic incident due to killing the psion in Helm. Sure that was an accident but still... And let's not forget he was meant to be running recon on our mission while he was off gallivanting about switching off machines he doesn't understand. What if there was a key piece of intel we needed for mission success that we didn't get because of that?

Edited by The Bored Chairman: 3/25/2022 10:45:30 PMWhile the Light gives you a chance of a new life, you're still fundamentally the same person you were before. Uldren Sov is just Crow but edgy. Without Mara around and with what happened in Risen, there's a good chance he'll drop the emo once somebody tells him that the core difference between him and the Hive is that he's trying to start fresh. The Hive are not. The Vanguard's actions in the HELM were a consequence of the Hive's actions, not the other way around. The Vanguard has proven that they are willing and able to coexist with those who are willing to live in peace. That was, and is, never an option for the Hive.

3 RepliesEdited by Avid_Coffee_Drinker: 3/26/2022 6:45:17 AMSame. In year one I thought all the NPCs were corny and annoying, especially Asher and failsafe, but I miss them now (except for Vance). For the most part I thought they were well done, especially Asher’s response to the pyramid appearing above Io. Crow is something else entirely though. Besides being annoying, It’s not reaching to say that he is the designated “woke” character in Destiny’s story, and I’m afraid that Bungie won’t be willing to make him be in the wrong because of it. At least the whole debacle with Saladin shows how unbased Crows mindset is right now.

1 ReplyI like crow.. he's finding his way in the world and questions things (unlike us who kill 1000s on a whim). If we use the enemies tactics, how are we any better than them? He was right to turn off the machines.
-
5 Repliesbut Crow is one of the best things about Destiny. I loved how he, the Guardian and Savathûn were just having a moment around the campfire. Him trying to get all friendly with Petra, and then Glint saying he's trying to do some of the moves of the Light that we did. It's so adorable! <3

1 ReplyEdited by Morbius Sin: 3/26/2022 2:54:33 AMIf i had the freedom of choice,i would of shot Uldren after he had murdered the Psion & put the whole alliance at risk, straight after he says "You understand.. Don't you!?" & i would say as he died "That's for Cayde & this time stay dead!",as i destroy Glint.

Crow is the only character in the game with a shed of decency. And Asher mir was a legend!

4 RepliesI liked Asher it was funny how often he insulted us as the guardian. He was quite literally dunking on us, like bro he was funny as heck to listen to. He was literally using big sciency words to say that our head hurts because it was our brain trying to comprehend our own stupidity. He was hilarious. I miss io it was a beautiful planet and the strikes were unique and Asher’s dialogue was always hilarious. I gotta re equip my Asher mirs one way ticket. Awesome guy, hope he comes back soon.

4 Replies"The Hive deserve mercy." Lol say that to Eris Morn's face. She knows all too well the evil Hive are capable and take pleasure from. I get what Crow is going through. But he has the guidance of Zavala, Saladin that have been around for over a millennia. But he doesn't listen to them. Crow's character is a good example of bad writing and development. He had a promising character development.

I liked him in the beginning and felt empathy. But he's still whiny and also became annoying.
-
Does he crow too much?
-
That's not possible. No way. Crow aka Uldren and Savathun are among my most favourite characters. Also I opt for making revived Savathun and her lucent Hive our best buddies same like Caiatl. We need 'em for this -blam!- Witness. And finally what about Mara Sov? Prime manipulator and b.... par excellence. Have fun!

1 ReplyEdited by Acts7: 3/25/2022 7:31:18 PMLol this reminds me of Ahsoka from Star Wars. Just wait... he will grow (Also he's a developing character come on lol)

4 RepliesA character without flaws is a dumb and boring character

1 ReplyCrow is fabled to be a hunter to be reckoned with - Op says he's whiny.... Ever try seeing the 'world' through Crow's eyes? -He initially doesn't know who he was -Does everything he can to help the Vanguard, despite knowing everyone is looking at him with deep seated hatred, but doesn't know why -Finds out his past as Uldren Sov -Finds out he was manipulated by a Hive witch -Finds out that we (the Guardian) were involved with his end as Uldren Sov -Saved Zavala from an assassin attack -Has compassion on the captive Hive, for he understands what it was like to be held mentally captive -Heck, even Saladman warmed up to him in the end Yeah, sure. He's whiney.... Asher Mir's schtick was a lot like Sheldon on The Big Bang Theory. Thinks too much of his own intellect and not able to comprehend how to understand or socially function with others. Too me he was more funny than he was annoying.
-
I dunno, i kinda like him. His thing last year was discovering who he was, both as a guardian and as uldren. This year is about him trying to digest who he was, and trying to do good. Key word here being trying.
-
1 ReplyHe can be a bit annoying at times, but I also see the perspective. What is more annoying to me is the fact that our guardians have no personality and are basically a errand boy fly on the wall. We have literally saved the universe how many times? Yet no one asks our opinion, we provide zero input and we have no ability to choose our own story arch or impact decisions in game. We just spectate and go with the flow. We are in the inner circle of every meeting, conference and crazy occurrence. You would think that someone would notice and be like...hey...what do you think about all of this? Or minimally they would say...why the hell is this guy here...he never says anything!

2 RepliesOhhhhhh boy if you think Crow has bad character development you probably haven't touched another RPG out there There's this game called "Tales of the Abyss" Timeless JRPG, Popular as hell for a Tales of game It's Main Character was literally designed to be INSUFFERABLE but he ends up having some of the best character development in video games period Crow is still developing as a character, He deserves to grow
-
Crow Immediately reminded me of some depressed kid your mom makes you play with because she’s friends with his mom. Is it a good idea in real life. Yes. But Crow isn’t a real person and I don’t care. I can’t even pretend. I wish we left the bomb in his ghost. And he’s getting worse season after season. It thought he had his redemption arc when he saved Zavala from the assassin, but then …. everything. Ugh 😑
-
Ehh just a bit
-
Asher Mir was hysterical and second to Cayde 6 in personality. Crow on the other hand needs to stay in his place. He lucky to be still breathing

2 RepliesEdited by Corrick II: 3/25/2022 4:55:24 PMHow are people getting the Crow story cutscenes? Am I not playing the right activities, or ignoring a quest? Are they even cutscenes? Is this a lore thing?
-
Yes, I dislike his character, and I dislike his mentality irl. However, I have to say, I also dislike the Guardian's character that we play. It has begun to wear on me. And it's funny because that has been in the game since the beginning. I think Bungies idea with Destiny, has always been about....finding your own destiny...so to speak. I could agree with it completely, if it werent for several strong convictions I personally hold dear. However, the game has covered this, so it's not all bad. I think it's better than it was..
