4 pinnacle drops: 3 in the same slot. How the hell is this still a thing?
Leveling up shouldn’t be RNG. Where person A gets 4 perfect pinnacle drops in the lowest slots and person B gets 4 pinnacle drops all in the same slot.
Here is how it should work: you get a powerful, pinnacle or prime engram to drop. It will decrypt for the slot that is the lowest automatically. If multiple slots are the lowest, it goes to a random one of those. DONE.
Good god. Just fix this already, Bungie. It shouldn't be that hard to put in the game.

2 years later, and it's still not fixed. i have only 1 character that's not at the pinnacle cap. 1 main, 2 alts. my 2nd alt has only 1 armour stuck at 1809, and i'm not playing the game anymore until i can get it to an average of 1810. once i do get it to 1810 average guess what i want to do that the bungo corp wants me to do? i'll play the game 100x more so i can farm 1810 level gear. so basically they are stopping me from playing even more by holding my 3rd character back at 1809 7/8 average. good job capitalists, greed got the better of you and you alienate your playerbase.

This is still not fixed....BUNGIE FFS !!!! Ive been working for nearly 12h t For pinnacles and every time it dropped a weapon in the same FKIN slot !!!! I will fkin delete my character and never buy anything in this game. Why is this not fixed?????

This whole forum topic is preaching to the choir. Bungie is surely aware, and neither reads these forums or intends to fix the issue. Ranking up has always been this way by intention, I expect. I have 6 identical pinnacles in a row on 2 characters over 2 weeks now, myself since I am missing only one 1810 piece. Ateast I know to expect this. Note however, it does not seem to occure at season start up to the RAID release, as the teams all seem to be at 1830 by week 2.

Completely agree. No one plays d2 for the light lvl anymore.. ..no one cares. The people that play, play it for the grind of what they don't have or the rolls they want on weapons and armor. No one plays destiny and says, " well I'm max light lvl.....time to stop playing!" It would actually be better if we hit max light sooner so we could focus on what we WANT TO FOCUS ON!! Hell, they could set the light lvl back to 30 for all I care. Tired of focusing all my time on light lvl every three f#$&ing months.

1 Replydid you plage your support for that one entity that controls everything in the existence of the destiny universe, did you pray to the ONE who could make or break your guardian in pieces and put you on the deepest dark of the ascendant realm so you can never see the light again? did you know who that entity is? It's called RNG. Plage your life to it, and if it feels your life is worthy enough to get the drops you wanted you are good to go.

"Working as intended" - Bungie. Seriously, it extends the grind and forces players to have to keep chasing drops hoping it'll be for a slot they need instead of having any protection to make that grind shorter. All about play time and definitely not RNG - it's like a mobile game or cashout game where once you near a threshold, the drops required to hit that threshold dramatically drop off - in this case, they tend to drop in the same slot you already have that power or greater in. And they just think we don't know that.

2 RepliesNo way this is totally RNG. - they have coded it that way. When you are lower in the power scale, you’ll generally get drops where they are needed. Once you are higher on the power scale, and certainly when you hit that powerful cap, however, that stops, and more often than not, pinnacles drop in the same slot. Stupid mechanic to keep the grind going.

Same here only drops KINECTS WEAPONS only!!!!! For 2 weeks in a row, getting a lot of frustrated about it, but this is a kong request by players and Bungie dont give a sh*t about it. Worst RnG ever this game since launch

Other than stupid master raids that are horrible content anyways, theres no single reason to still do pinnacle chores every season. Do yourself a favor and just play other games when you would have wasted valuable time on the slot machine pinnacle grind that gives zero benefit.

Solution : lets say you need chest, leg, and heavy. When starting an pinnacle activity swipe those low light lvl with something else and swipe back again. Its like reminder to rng that im also missing these. Strikes should you do it on last strike. Same gambit, pvp. Nightfall before yoy launch. When opening an pinnacle engram like ib, do it one by one. I had a late start to play (started Sunday for pinnacles). From Sunday through Tuesday I had 6 pinnacle legs drop.

Never gonna happen. Destiny’s number one problem since launch has been content droughts. Basically after so and so months everyone is max light and nothing matters anymore leaving players with no purpose. why would they implement something like you suggested? So everyone can be max light in 3 weeks? I’m not backing their process, but just saying that’s how it’s most likely gonna stay.

There's supposed to be some kind of protection on this, but sure enough, 3 of my 4 banner bounties were heavies, and I didn't get a single Pinnacle helmet last week. I did every single pinnacle in the game, and not 1 helmet. I hate this rng leveling system.

had 2 characters at 1560 for 3 weeks. 3rd character lol yea that guy has needed just a helmet for 3 weeks. its the unfortunate grind. I just get on and run every pinnacle and when i dont get what i need i switch characters and run PVP
