They bring changes to games based on their opinion. Research isn't done by the companies, they just listen to the streamers and make games to cater to them.
They are a curse to gaming that should have never existed.

3 Replieshey dipshit... how do you think bungie hears feedback? I mean, they don't actually listen to any feedback, the old guard just sits there jerking each other off ruining the game but to say streamers ruin games is the dumbest -blam!- I've ever heard.
-
South Park did an episode on streamers. It’s possible I give that show too much credit, but I think they’re spot on: people watch streamers in place of hanging out with friends or even just watching their friends play. It’s a social fix while allowing you to remain anti-social. Agree/disagree?
-
Everybody is a steamer these days. It’s a fun game and I have fun struggling with playing it for years. Don’t take it too seriously though because it’s a hobby not a life skill.
-
I think streamers are often wrong and Bungie should never blindly follow them. Many are crazy elitist and far removed from what the average player actually experiences or can accomplish. What streamers are good for is general polling and outreach. More people watch Datto than are on these forums or reply to email surveys. The best way for Bungie to see what people actually want or think is though streamers and twitter. Videos that get a lot of thumbs up or positive comments are an easy way of getting a feel for what the community agrees with. Bungie will often get this wrong through not understanding the nuance of the video or taking things out of context, but it’s much more efficient. It’s not necessarily a bad thing, but streamers are always going to have a perceived larger voice in the community.

I only watch lore streamer. Don’t care about rest.

6 RepliesIs it not the streamers that ruined trials? I looked forward on my return to try trials with the separate player pool for those who went flawless to find out it had almost instantly been removed, cos streamers didn't have easy matches/couldn't do carries.
-
Your opinion entirely. I disagree, as they promote the game, but I’m not going to attack you for thinking the way you do.
-
I miss kraftyy playing trials ☹️

2 RepliesI realized this even before I got back into Destiny Content Creators influence so damn much in games and they even get away with bad behavior I used to think Kackis was a cool dude until I realized he's really not This is part of the reason why I only follow less popular people on YouTube despite Civvie11 has gotten big as a Content Creator, I still think his FPS Reviews are legit along with decino doing stuff for Classic DOOM
-
17 RepliesJust curious, what changes do you think streamers are solely responsible for?
-
Completely agree. For instance-the flawless pool. Starting it on Sunday is dumb. So streamers didn’t want to wait but the majority of the population are forced to wait because streamers complained. Flawless pool is dumb.

33 RepliesDatto style streamers are bad for the game, others like esotericck are great.
-
Kinda like when they bring 3 or 4 of the top players in all of Destiny to Bungie studios to test out new unreleased content...really?. 99% of the player base does not interact or think on the same level. And on a side note the same applies to all these build videos that streamers put out...the majority of us will never see a "We ran out of medals". Good players will beat you with almost any weapon so stop trying to mimic them.
-
No one worth watching streams this game anymore imo

6 Repliesyup fallout literally went out and told people to exploit the erianas bug and isnt banned for some reason

2 RepliesWhen i see what players are asking for on b.net honestly...i would prefer if datto was ruling the game XD. If we were listening to players on these forums. Abilities would get removed. Shotguns would be deleted. Gambit and pvp would get deleted. People should get flawless loots just by losing 7 matches in a row. Everytime something kills them it should be nerfed. Everything should take less than 5min to get or else its just a "horrible grind" (cuz you know playing a game is a torture) Warlocks would recieve a buff every week because they are so damn bad even if they are the best class in pve and insanely strong in pvp. And many others good ideas XD.

1 Replystreamers arent bad for gaming.... whats bad is game companies catering to one easy meta that streamers are used to for years (looking at you shotgun apes) and nerfing anything that counters that meta into the ground the same week those streamers cry about it
-
6 RepliesEdited by Mime Time!!: 3/13/2022 9:24:00 PMYea, they disable exotics and perks for their day 1 streamer e-celeb raids but won't help with the mess that is going on in gambit right now. :(

Haven't watched a d2 stream in forever, I feel great.
-
You can say that again. 95% of all the toxic waste comes from them!
-
Oh god not this again. Muted.
-
In before this thread gets locked because Bungie loves streamers/YouTubers.
-
You can just say you're jealous. ;p
-
I think that’s a little unfair, some have really good, well thought out feedback. And tbh I think most devs want players to experience the game as they intended it to be played and will make small changes based off of balanced feedback from many sources, not just a couple of streamers.

6 RepliesI like streamers as people and as players. I follow a couple of them. They cause bad things to happen to the game. Sometimes it's because they have an opinion and because the company listens to them; I'm not a fan of this but it's not the primary issue. Streamers spend a lot of time on the game. For some of them it's their day job. The company will pace the game according to them. This means normal players who have a normal 9-5 or family commitments suffer because the company is afraid of losing the attention and/or affection of the streamers.
