Name change error 17
Every time I try to change my display name I get this error "The field "displayName" has an invalid value in it. Please provide a valid value for the field and try again. (17)"

Having the same problem. Trying to change my name to "Panossa" and I'm really not sure how and where that might trigger an insult filter.

(17) This is -blam!- ridiculous man, it's been a full week since the name change update and I still can't change my name dude, really bungie!? My name change isn't inappropriate or anything like that, it's just a simple -blam!- name. This needs to get fixed.

1 ReplyEdited by Nejling: 3/13/2022 7:21:13 PMMy husband is having the same problem. His gamertag is Razlath. That is the tag he had in Destiny 1 as well as when we played D2 when it launched. We even have the first Triumphs t-shirt that show our gamer names. There was no option to use his gamer name when we recently rejoined D2. It just changed him to a generic Guardian#### name with no other option if he wanted to log in. Now with the name change being offered, he still cannot reclaim his name. Razlath is even the "Suggested Name" you can click when he tries to change it, but the error 17 comes up every time. It is incredibly frustrating because there is no way to contact anyone in support. None of the support links fit and @BungieHelp on Twitter is like talking in a screaming crowd. I thought I would try here on the forum boards in case anyone here had a solution or a link to someone that could help. Thanks for listening. I linked a picture with errors and his display name and the t-shirt. ~nejling
