Cancelling Russian players is wrong.
Not selling current Destiny to Russian players is WRONG. Bungie has decided to limit the abillity to continue within our community based on the actions of their leader. Many Russians do not agree with this war and yet here Bungie is, trying to have these citizens punished for the actions of the military.
-blam!- doens't know who or what Bungie or destiny is (likely) nor does he care when he wants to wage a war against Ukraine in hopes of upping his resources to sell to the world. All the sanctions in the world put against the people of the nation will not make them hate -blam!- more, nor will it convince people to revolt and take action (by the way hasn't Russia been accused of using this tactic by the USA? and we were told that it is wrong)
Help those who need it, help Ukraine and its people who are suffering. But, and more to the point, help the citizens of Russia, don't keep harming them in hopes they will love you.. They won't.. they will hate the west for its actions directly against them.

Nobody's punishing Russian players. You can still play the game if you have it snd you can still buy the game from sources that aren't the publisher's website.

1 ReplyPeople always suffer from the actions of people in power unfortunately. I wonder if they will cut off China when they do the same to Taiwan? It will happen, China is just seeing how the Russian thing plays out. Things are way to political these days. You used to be able to have friends and just agree to disagree. Now, if you are on a certain side, and you disagree, too bad, you are cancelled or ignored, etc. It's really scary seeing what has gone on in Australia, Canada, other countries I cannot see, and even in the US. Politicians have way too much power, companies have way too much influence, and it really is reaching a breaking point in my opinion.

3 RepliesListen, not all the Russian people did this. Their President decided this and unfortunately they come along for the ride. Now, that's not to say I don't care about them not being able to live normal lives. I believe every human being deserves a shot at living their own personal peace. The issue is on the other side. Look what one country is dealing with and what the other is. Would you prefer western luxuries or would you prefer dying? Those are the only two options for the Russians and Ukrainians. America along with so many other countries CAN NOT GET INVOLVED. What do people want, World War 3??? Cause that's what you get when Nuclear Powers fight. So how do WE as a planet and it's people help the Ukrainians? Pressure the Aggressor. When we cannot dethrone him and their government, the next best thing is REVOLUTION or ANARCHY. If the Russians are unwilling to fight for the luxuries they had and lost then they don't deserve them. The whole country needs to fight this Presidents evil ways in mass, it's the only way this goes without WW3 happening. Now we suffer for it. No matter who's country it is. Gas, Food, Electronics and so much more are being inflated due to the upheaval of the world economy. This is a new form of Cold War, fighting through Economic Seizure. We've done it before and we are good at it, especially when facing crazy Dictatorships. I admire the Ukrainians so much. They are fighting for their lives and their country right now against a much larger force led by a nut job. If this is what it takes to help in any way I'm all for it.

Maybe preordering isn’t such a bad idea. 🤔 I’m sure this is only temporary, all this will be smoothed over by the next expansion, and Russian players can buy content again. If not than we’re likely going into a WWIII and Russian players being able to buy silver will be the least of everyone’s troubles.

The Russia People didn't do anything wrong. Just like the American People didn't do anything wrong when our government took "military actions" in other countries. Fact is the same powers into cancel culture and virtue signaling have also been talking smack about Russia for years. It's all sad, and only innocent gamers get hurt in the mix.

It’s wrong, but it’s a form of political pressure Western companies can place. The idea is to make life so unhappy for the Russian people that they revolt or can’t continue the war due to popular sentiment. It’s called 5th generational warfare. (It’s worked with Russian instagram models and tic-tock stars, why can’t it work with video games?) It succs and probably is unlikely to be completely effective, but Bungie is within their rights to do so and seeing as Bungie is run mostly by Democrats, they’ll follow what their leader says (just like how republicans did with the Orange Man in office).

This is a blatant unprovoked attack on a sovereign nation by a crazed lunatic. Yeah, little Judo man is a big man for bombing a women's and children's hospital or clinic, these are clearly [b][i]war crimes[/i][/b] that little Judo man should have to answer for! His own people have to remove (hopefully peacefully, I don't know how) little Judo man!

If anything, the Russian gamers are more concerned with being reported for wrong think. Second, my first thought was "would they do the same for Taiwan?"
