Please uncap materials. We should be able to buy as many of mats we want or hold as many as we want. There is no economy. We can’t trade with other players. There is absolutely zero reason to cap anything.

Utterly ludicrous amounts of different currencies to do different things.

Agreed. Also I don't understand why make this ridiculous costs, you need 70 mats (250 cap) for one single perk switch. And weapon gives you 12 ?! Why 70 and 12 ? Why not make 5 and 1 ? So that weapon gives you 1 and update needs 5. In this case at least 250 cap will be kinda fine.

2 RepliesEdited by max: 3/10/2022 12:24:15 PMDestiny is one of a kind all of the grinding you can possibly get from any mmo none of the progressive empowerment from those grinding

2 RepliesI don't care if it is an MMO or not, we don't need the ridiculous caps on materials.. who exactly is that helping? Further, by having caps and limits, people just find alternate ways around it, exploits and cheats or cheeses to be as efficient as possible with the grinding out of some of the materials and xp necessary. It doesn't promote fair play, nor does it prompt players to play more.. it just puts them off, especially when the new system has a major flaw not allowing players to pay for the Alloys for 3 weeks.. UM Bungie did you forget we need those to create and upgrade items???

19 RepliesThis game is definitely not a MMO. Too many lacking components for it to be in the same genre. It is a ARPG at the most with elements of a MMO and a looter shooter. It is no different than playing Killsquad or Borderlands. Anyone who thinks this is a MMORPG are delusional.

There can be an economy without a player to player market or trading system. The definition of economy being “the careful management of available resources”. This is why Bungie uses the term when they also talk about ability and super energy. That being said, I do think resource caps are dumb.
-
I think the buying should still be capped but you should be able to hold as many as you want.
-
I wish. They need all the playtime they can get out of everyone so their games look far better on the charts.
-
Bungie started capping materials after people did the infinite enhancement core exploit. To prevent players from finding a way to circumvent material grind, caps were introduced so that even if a glitch was found, you couldn't stock up a lifetimes worth of mats
-
1 ReplyDestiny 2 is designed to make players spend more time playing the game. If they uncap the materials, players won’t have to spend as much time. This is what they intend and it probably won’t change.

You are foolish if you don’t recognise the reason this is done. They want you to play regularly instead of farming what you want, enjoying the loot and then play another game.

10 Replies7 years later and some people still think it's an mmo 😆

Agreed, bungie is ridiculous with their anti-player policies, also i should be able to buy those materials with glimmer just like with spyder. As soon as it becomes a full-blown farming game i’m gone.
-
Just delete 2k psychogenic intel because i couldn’t progress on my hunter 😭
-
I think it’s more to do with data limits on the game itself uncapping it might not be a good thing

-
I get why they did it though.

1 ReplyIt’s a timeshare

1 ReplyIt has nowhere near the systems or the grind of a real mmo , of that I am thankful for , I tried ESO, I'll stick to Destiny

They’ll keep you farming every so often when you want to craft. Doing the same things every so often. Just so you can can craft that one weapon you might need some day. (Unlikely though since all craftables are trash except for striga )

9 RepliesEdited by Bearded Midget: 3/9/2022 5:29:08 PMBungie trying to fit their game to the MMO crowd calling it an MMO game even though they can't make a proper MMO game. Hahaha!!! They want to fit in but the reality is they don't really know what they're doing. You can see how the game breaks creating a pile of mess here and there. This game feels like an experiment. A failed experiment! Lmao! They don't know what to do with it, so they put a hamster wheel right in the middle of the game and let everyone run it. Game has potential. But that's all it is. A potential. Lmao! That terminology has been used to describe this game for over 7 years now, it's just getting too old to use it over and over by now. A potential is not great. It's just a potential. An untapped possibility. In short, it's still a failure. Bottom line, the best they could do after 7 years is to make y'all run the hamster wheel while throwing money at the screen. At this point, it makes me cringe just to say that. Lmao! It's a failed experiment!
