But mostly team balancing... the game constantly team solo against stacks if it's possible. (4stacks getting with 2 stacks and 3 stacks with 3 stacks) it rarely puts the stacks on separate teams. Creating lop sided poor experience for players.
This could easily be mitigated with a freelance queue for solos.
And by the way, why is it, that players from other platforms tend to lag when facing other platforms.. often when I'm facing Xbox players, there's lag. Often them teleporting around, probably goes both ways, but it shouldn't be a problem in the first place 🤦

1 ReplyWas on the higher end of the skill spectrum and I can't even play anymore. Worst matchmaking and team balancing of any game. Can't think of worse despite a lifetime of gaming.

2 RepliesSame old story, just don't play it. Enough people abandon it .it will go away

Clearly Bungie is doing something right if playing pvp is infuriating for you. We all know if something is "fun" or "convenient" Bungie takes an axe to it almost immediately.

Played against them same 3 people back to back last night all using jotunn, been awhile since I’ve felt so pissed. Just kept slamming and as soon as they get low they run crying to their teammates to save them

1 ReplyAgreed. Solo players pay the same money as everyone else, but are treated like the back burner. Every solo lobby is the worst balancing ever. Forced losses for 86 games in a row, one blowout, another 40 losses. Nobody wants to carry day 1 pvpers for 3 ranks worth of losses. Personally I play until I'm tired of trying to carry potatoes, spend a match or 2 trying to make potatoes carry me, then usually quit every 6th or 7th match of the same monotonous bs no chance of winning garbage game, because let's face it, the "team" you get wasn't going to miraculously stop wall shopping and shoot at the enemy any time soon. I really only like this game for the character style in pvp, only play pve to obtain better gear for pvp, then bungo rigs the matches. 3 tiers bungo, low, medium, high. When you are 0 to 1.5 kd, low tier, 1.5 to like 2.5 mid tier, above 2.5 high tier. Would make us all play our relative skill without actual sbmm. Would eliminate potato teammates every frigging round. Would eliminate probably half the quitters. Seems basic, but it's been years of deaf ears and no action in this aspect. And ffs, stop with the stupid circle caps in solo trials etc. The whole allowing a titan to cap with invincibility bubble crap is beyond stupid. If they can't win the actual game, they shouldn't be in there, not get given a free win because of the stupid bubble. Anyway, the list of reasons I -blam!- hate bungo because of pvp is endless, but I'm addicted to comp, no other fps feels as good character/movement wise. This bungo, is why I love to hate you.

3 RepliesSkill based matchmaking doesnt sound so bad anymore when we see where we are today.
-
1 ReplyIt’s beyond a joke and if there is a pvp team they need to be replaced
-
15 RepliesEdited by HITACHI NR83A: 3/6/2022 12:40:20 PMI agree bungie just needs to toss out sbmm because someone like me has a 3.2 kd and hella hours in crucible so since it’s sbmm I get matched against Mexicans, gutamalaians people not even in my country. Make it pure cbmm so I can have a wider variety of players I play against the same kids every day.

2 RepliesWe have Connection based Matchmaking to blame. Well, more aptly, we have the streamers and "good" pvp players out there that cry if the concept of Skill based matchmaking is brought up, because they don't want to have to go against players of similar skill because they can't stream "kill streak" montages while facerolling lower skill players
-
Thats because of CBMM .
-
Stacks are serious problem, but soo matching with a high elo puts you with a lowest elo possible too. Results? Mostly getting mercied cause they actually act like hive thrall.

I barley got into D2 again a few nights ago playing PVP in almost a year and my first couple matches, boom all the sweats on the other team and all randoms maybe 1 team of 2. Still expecting me to carry a year later LOL tf outta here! But I am makin my PVP dominance comeback. 😱 #nometanoworries

23 RepliesNah, lobby balancing could use a little tweak but overall none of you are entitled to being protect by better players. Q up and take the w or loss (mostly losses for some of you).
-
Done this since day 1 of destiny 1 back in 2014 idk why but its almost 100% occurrence so just go do pve or slug it out in pvp
-
I used to be strictly solo in QP control… but I was sick of carrying my team… it felt like playing 1 v 6 every game. So now I run a full team of similar KD/A team mates…. Ahh now crucible is fun.

3 Replies"balancing" is impossible. Every game from the late 80's to now have tried, can't and won't happen. If you are going up against stacks, than get your own. That's how I learned, and that's how I operate best. I suck solo Freelance won't help unless they come back with SBMM - but then you'll have connection issues, LARGE amounts of lag, and long queue times. What you're suggesting has already been attempted - didn't work out too well For the crossplay lag, from my experience, and by scientific deduction, it's Xbox users. I'm on PS5, and have no issues playing with PC players, and vice versa. HOWEVER, any time we link up with at least ONE xbox user, connection goes to crap. Remove xbox from the equation, everything goes back to normal. Conclusion, Xbox doesn't play nice with other networks. Naturally, Xbox users will disagree - but it's hard to accept blame if you don't see it from every one elses position

2 RepliesI don’t know all the details about Bungie’s matchmaking, but if I were a betting man, I would bet nothing in the matchmaking changes based on the class everyone is using. In my mind, that’s a big problem because I am usually somewhere between 1.25 and 1.5 kda as a hunter, but I would be closer to 2.0 as a Titan or Warlock if I used them more. My stats are almost always higher when I play Warlock and Titan, but I doubt the matchmaking system recognizes the class difference. My theory is that the lobbies will always suck because the classes are unbalanced.

Edited by BoogaSuga: 3/5/2022 10:38:12 AMI don't think it's a " solo versus stack " issue. I think it's a problem that 90% of players want to play control like TDM and sit in the spawn without playing objectives. No -blam!- you lose when they have a power play 80% of the game. Remove control. Replace with TDM. Go from there. Then, at least if you frag out and little Timmy on your team goes 2 and 18 you have a chance. Also, this isn't a " punish solo player " thing. This is Bungie ignoring pvp for 3+ years and expecting it to be ok because 51% of players only run the same strike over and over and over and over and over.

3 RepliesThe lag is also on another level right now. i mean every game, i am being killed by players in other rooms/corridors and i'm sure it must be the same for my opponents. its unplayable.

What kind of experience did people think they were going to get with “Cross Play”? And you’re punished for turning it off.
