What was the thought process for taking a new useable titan exotic that added a different play style to titan, and was fun to boot, and making it a liability to your team and yourself. So when I’m running to cover, get damaged to critical, it drops my sunspot out in the open while simultaneously putting my class ability on CD when I would need to create hard cover the most. On top of sunspots getting low key nerfed already, it removes the exotic from usefulness in anything but basic strikes and world exploration. What a waste.

It was either that or Bungie was going to reduce the weapon damage from Sun Warrior so take your pick. But getting a weapon buff and ability recharge instantly from placing a barricade is pretty good. I think good players will be able to utilize this even better.

So did RDMs. They disabled Tricksleeves for over a month. Titans aren't being targeted, you're being treated the same.

It was a bait and switch. They’ve got your money now so they don’t care.

I personally like the exotic a lot, but this new change does feel awfully janky.
Upvote for more coverage.
Bungie just wasted time with this exotic.

I actually think it's a great exotic if they remove the "eats your class ability if you die". It was fine before bc it didn't take your class ability, and free sunspots are well, free. I'm never going to complain about that. But now there is basically no situation where I'd want the sunspot to happen in the middle of a gunfight instead of me just putting my barricade to survive. The healing is so -blam!- that it really has no affect on a battle. The best part about it is the ability regen and 20% damage buff.

2 RepliesWhat’s funny is I was leaning towards the chest piece at the end of the campaign.

2 RepliesEdited by NightFade: 3/3/2022 8:19:29 PMExactly!!! They just straight up neutered this exotic. Why would I use an exotic that could steal my class ability away from me at any moment just from getting damaged!?!? This is a terrible change, and completely killed the exotic for me before I even used it. I have no interest in an exotic that steals my class ability for something less useful.

2 RepliesEdited by Tux808: 3/4/2022 4:43:44 AMBungie didn’t really give the helmet a chance to see if it was “game breaking”. They should’ve gave it more time to see if people would actually complain about the exotic instead of flat out nerfing it in less than a month. Here are some ways to fix it if it does turn out to be a “problem”. Instead of a sunspot being created on Citibank health, remove it and just leave it to where barricade creates the sunspot, then buff sunspot damage again since it won’t become an issue where people would complain about dying when wounding a titan and a sunspot killing them. Right now sunspot tick damage is kinda bad and I can see why they nerfed the damage but now nerfing the exotic they like that makes no sense to me

1 ReplyEdited by ZeroEmerald: 3/4/2022 3:27:47 PMImagine an exotic that ate a hunters dodge on critical health, or a warlocks rift, so when you respawn you're on a cooldown. Sure, the cooldowns can be brought way down, but it takes all autonomy away from the player when they want to activate it. If I am in a gun fight I can't win and need to back out, they may get me to red as I duck behind the corner, my sunspot activated out in the open so I can't stand in it to heal, I can't place a barricade to prevent being aped and finished off AND the sunspot won't do enough damage to kill the enemy if they run through it. That's if they even need to, if I am being laned by a sniper or scout or whatever, they might be too far away to even see the sunspot. Wearing this helmet is an active detriment, the only way to take advantage of it is to use it proactively, which isn't great because what if I put my barricade down, get the sunspot, then the enemy switches lanes or backs off? I have just wasted it all because I had to use it or lose it, I can't react to a fight, I have to correctly guess when to place it down before a gunfight - which I might get wrong. It's a massive waste of abilities, it's not worth the exotic slot and sunspots got a damage nerf on top of that. Huge fail all round on this one. Hopefully Bungie revert it, i'd take a cooldown on proccing the perk over this barricade change. Put 10-20 seconds between spawning sunspots when critical, i'd be ok with that.

It makes it a completely different exotic. I didn’t play the campaign on legendary and choose this as my first new exotic just for it to be nerfed immediately.

2 RepliesShotgun apes in crucible probably complained about dying to it.
just a joke, don’t yell at me
Edited by Joulevette12: 3/4/2022 4:17:05 PMYea just saw a vid about the nerf 😂 I'm not a titan main and I can tell this is a stupid change you basically loosing a ability because you died in a gunfight while it trying to save you 🤣 it's a worst version of The Stag exotic

1 ReplyThat's bungie for ya and they don't care what anybody thinks or says!We don't play the way we want,we play the way Bungie wants us to play. People enjoying themselves in a game is a definite No No in bungie eyes.all while trickling content out every week to keep people coming back.I mean we paid for said content, why time gate us behind it?!
-
It feels very reactive and out of the players control, i really dont like it and its sad

1 ReplyEdited by TonnoSenpai: 3/4/2022 8:04:18 AMstarting with a damage boost and healing in battle is a win win for pvp , for pve well no one is using solar in end game content

Edited by A RANDOM GENT: 3/4/2022 10:14:14 AMWell I'm definitely not gonna grind for the helmet anymore. Soo many useless titan exotics now, one eyed mask, mask of the quiet one.

Edited by Kranium: 3/4/2022 3:02:20 AMWhat's even the point of making a new exotic if you're just gonna nerf the subclass AND the exotic itself into the ground asap. Makes no sense to me. Ruined an already underused subclass for the fear that this good but not insane exotic was too much...
-
Yup. If I would have known I wouldn't have wasted my exotic at the end of Legendary Campaign. Basically a useless exotic now. Did Siegebreaker really need that nerf if you just nerfed the use out of that helmet? C'mon Bungo.

2 RepliesThis 1 exotic that could only work for 1 tree for Sunbreaker was so scary, that -sunspot damage was nerfed BEFORE Witch Queen launched. -only available in Legend / Master Lost Sectors -and now will only proc IF you have barricade and if it does proc it will consume your barricade which you were gonna use to block a lane. Not even One Eyed Mask got this treatment and lived long enough to see trials.
