Compared to Luke Smith and others in my opinion Blackburn has brought back that special feeling Destiny 1 had, hope to see him stay director for Destiny 2 for a good time!

3 RepliesYet he has no idea how to pronounce Caiatl.

2 RepliesLuke smith is gone? No wonder I started playing this game again.
-
I’d bet this person can’t direct an girl’s guide Pick-nick .

7 RepliesDang way to stroke your own ego joe get outta here

4 RepliesOnly the campaign has been actually good from what we have seen. But the rest is just meh

1 ReplyWe don't even know how much of an influence Luke had on the terrible decisions really. It all happened behind closed doors, Luke was just the public picture that was connected by people to the bad decisions. So who knows if Joe is the good influence or if the higher ups just made some right decsions and gave the team some freedom. Also, a lot in the game could be MILES better. The witch queen launch was awesome, story was great (after 2 absolute garbage campaigns), content is really grindy, strikes, gambit and pvp have not gotten the NEEDED content after the DCV pulled those pillar activities apart and yea theres a lot to hate about the game still. The new content is good in fact but its also like feeding a dog after starving him for 2 weeks. He will eat anything. We had the biggest content gap and are just happy to have new stuff.

1 ReplyBring back Luke Smith. I don’t like this Joe guy.
-
People give him a lot of grief and some of it he has earned, but he also helped gov eus countless improvements to the game that go completely unappreciated all the time
-
5 RepliesCampaign was a blast but honestly, where’s the content? Second week and it seems the only thing left is the raid and wellspring grind.

Aside from the really horrible economy changes and the master worked weapon nerf i agree

Yeah amazing. Battlegrounds and War Table again.... seriously! Everyone is moist over the campaign but that's a days worth. The whole team needs to just go... apart from the person that designed Phoenixfall. The whole system is unstable, crap networking, maintenance all the time, emergency maintenance out of the blue, broken crap everywhere, just everything is lame, restricted, playing under Bungies rules.... the list is endless. If it wasn't for Destiny 1 and this was a new thing it would be dead and in every free pass next to goat simulater and candy crush

Compared to Luke Smith and others in my opinion Blackburn has brought back that special feeling Destiny 1 had, hope to see him stay director for Destiny 2 for a good time!
Joe Blackburn is awesome, but he had a hand in a lot of the decisions being made before he became director. You’re over exaggerating one person’s importance. There’s a lot of people that impact the game. Like the WQ campaign lead Andrew Hopps. He’s also the campaign lead for lightfall. We can expect him and his team to put out another great campaign next year.

Compared to Luke Smith and others in my opinion Blackburn has brought back that special feeling Destiny 1 had, hope to see him stay director for Destiny 2 for a good time!
Compare to Luke Smith any director would be, that's a given knowing Luke Smith had no business being the director. All anyone had to do was look at his resume, that that alone said enough.

2 RepliesJoe's ok, but Luke Smith all day long. 👍
-
In my eyes he’s a god because he was the lead of last wish. Man has been doing gods work for awhile now

8 RepliesKinda hard to tell who should get credit for what. Things are planned well in advance. Years most the time. So we potentially could still be playing things that were all done under Smiths management. Not saying that’s true but there’s really no way of us knowing. I’ll give them credit for WQ. I don’t think it’s as great as many here but it is still really good. But it’s not hard to impress with a big content drop after a big content drought. Let’s see how the rest of the year goes. I don’t say that with I’ll intent either. I like the direction things are going but at the end of the day this is Bungie. They are well known for -blam!- up a good thing lol.

And yet he also still sucks; just doesn't suck as much.
-
5 RepliesI have to agree. Since Luke has been less present, the game feels a lot better than before.
-
5 RepliesPeople said the same about luke smith. Please stop

3 RepliesDon’t you know? , Luke Smith is the only developer who still works on destiny, the rest are on Matter.

Compared to Luke Smith and others in my opinion Blackburn has brought back that special feeling Destiny 1 had, hope to see him stay director for Destiny 2 for a good time!
I prefer Jason Jones or Joseph Statin as directors of Destiny.

19 RepliesHas nothing to do with who was director. Its about having had almost 3 years since leaving Activision to address the game's problems, and to turn Destiny 2 into the game Bungie wanted to make. Not the game Activision wanted made. By the way, the decision to continue D2 rather than go dark and make D3....as well as the ideas on updating the Light Subclasses to be more like Stasis were ideas that were started under He Who Shall Not Be Named's watch.

He has spoketh the cursed name! 😱

The Campaign was the best since Forsaken, IMHO. However Gambit changes are terrible (except for being able to share heavy chest and Solo play list) and make we never want to play it again.
