Deep Sight Resonance Weapons were a mistake.

They need reworked, tweaked, or flat out removed. All they accomplish is gating people from even be able to craft, since you need 3-5 of them to even unlock a Pattern. The drop rates are so bad that it's likely most will already have the normal God Rolls and be way over capped on materials by the time crafting is even an option. Not to mention a quest is tied to this terrible RNG. Was this your intention Bungie? To stack RNG on RNG to the point where players can't even engage with the crafting system? Let alone actually CRAFT a weapon? Here's a few feedback suggestions. 1. Deep Sight Resonance Weapons drop rate buffed dramatically, not only do you need them for the materials to craft, but need 3-5 to even unlock some Weapons. It should be every other drop minimum. Or 2. Let us convert non Deep Sight Resonance weapons into them for materials(glimmer, cores, shards). You built a whole crafting area, it could be as simple as adding a "Resonator" in one of the table menus. 3. Scrap them all together. Make it to where dismantling unlocks patterns and gives materials to craft.

  • The only drops rate issues for deepsight weapons I have are the ones from wellspring. When it comes to world etc drops, it's death by red boxes for me lol

  • I feel that you should be able to convert normal weapons into craftable ones in order to unlock the enhanced versions of them. I also think there shouldn’t be a cap on materials as many people are now filling their vaults with completed deep sight weapons as cashing them in would be pointless.

You're missing the point, if RNG is this bad now how is that going to change "Week 10"? I just want to be able to craft weapons. Something that was shown I would be able to do in TWABs and Trailers.The real grind should be Weapon levels and Materials NOT unlocking patterns thorough RNG. Kinda defeats the purpose when I'll have all the best rolls before I can even craft.

    • They already said they are gonna buff the drops and introduce bad luck protection (I wanna say that patch is next week but I could be remembering wrong).

    • It'd literally pushed me to the edge of not wanting to play anymore. Just because its tied to a quest, which of course is tied to a seal. The just lie and revert to whatever makes them the most money. Bungie will never do anything for the player.

    • I finished the campaign on legendary, and ran DSC and Vog for powerfuls, and I've gotten about 30 of them.

        • I haven't even begun to look at looking into looking into crafting. I quite liked the rng grind for weapons 🙂. Far more satisfying to land the one you want than to just go and make it.

          • Complaining about RNG week 1 out of 3 month .... And you complaining just because of the exotic quest ...its timed locked btw .... The system is fine ....you don't like it cause you expected less to no grinding with weapon crafting....

            • 1 week into DLC. Let me repeat. We’re 1 week into the DLC. Next season is 3 months away, so you have 3 months before new weapons will probably get patterns. I get we’re all hyper-farmers and that destiny is our full time job, but c’mon we’re 1 week in we don’t need to have everything already.

              • The only thing I dont like are the Doritos. Let me see how many I have ffs.. And give a ghost perk or something or timed option for increased number of them to be extracted. 200 sucks..

              • Could just do away with mats for this altogether and have kills be converted to a currency and that’s it. Keeps it simple and easy to track on the fly. Say you need 10k to max out a basic weapon and 30-50k to 100% a weapon maybe so it is a bit of a commitment but you still get most everything you’d want at 10k. But if we’re keeping mats, ffs let us convert shards to alloy, I still have shards stacked everywhere and I’ll never use them

              • I think the intent was that it's week 1 and we arnt even fully though it.. but this community is complaining they haven't unlocked everything yet.. they put out arguably the best expansion to date.. but yet the forums are still filled with crybabies

                • Bungie has been doing this since d1. They introduce a feature that people have been asking for, but introduce it in a way that many in the player base view as broken and antiplayer. This is on purpose so they can then swoop in a few months from now and "fix" it, all under the guise of "we're listening". It happens every single release. Wake up.

                • Deep sight weapons are a mistake because you have run random ones. You should be able to pull mats out of the ones you are leveling that you like. Also the mats caps are incredibly dumb. They need to be double or triple to alleviate having to stash 30+ resonance weapons to farm when you want to change a few things. That’s assuming you even keep the dumb requirement of it costing you to switch in the first place.

Oh btw, all the mats have a needlessly low cap so instead of saving neat rolls and whatnot, we're going to overflow your vault with weapons so you can refill whenever you do end up engaging with our trash system...                 • All they need to do is let you get the blueprint by dismantling that weapon. I mean you’re literally taking it apart anyways. Keep resonance weapons as “fuel” for crafting. And for <redacted> sake make everything obtainable craftable. If a weapon is currently able to drop with a specific role then let us craft it

                • Being honest what they should have done is made resonance harvestable from any weapon. You complete the progress bar, extract, repeat, certain weapons give each of the different materials. I'd even rather they make stuff require way more materials than leave it in the hands of rng. Or atleast make them like the old gun Smith bounties, pick up the gun from banshee and complete the requirements

                • For the most part, I myself am fine with it because we have months to get this done. The weapons we need to craft that are tied to reports though... thats a different story but that's because they're tied to the Wellspring which appears to be bugged given the sheer number of players complaining about the drop rate of even regular versions of those weapons, let alone the resonance versions.
