Grand overture catalyst quest is exactly how catalyst quests SHOULD be
The option to do every step in pvp or pve is exactly what a season pass weapons catalyst should be. The option for a pve player like myself to not have to go into crucible to fully unlock a weapons full potential is perfect and I hope Bungie keeps this mindset going forward.

Dude i'm nearly on 1500 kills and still no catalyst, i ran 13 Nightfalls in a row and it stood still on 164 of 200 This is so dumb, fraudulent as well, cause people WASTE precious time on stuff that should be a simple task Precious time that could be aimed at i dunno, playing the game instead of running around like a squirrel on dope

Honestly, while it's an improvement - it is still [b]stupid[/b] that we have to do a seasonal quest (which has progress buffed during that season only and otherwise you're in for an even longer grind) to unlock the catalyst... and then [b]still[/b] have to grind out the catalyst itself to make it active. Should be one or the other - give us the catalyst to grind; or the quest should award the completed catalyst. The Grind to Unlock Grind is bullshit and they know it and we know it (some of us just want to turn a blind eye out of Bungie horniness-i-mean-loyalty.)

Dont dream sir. Its just because its a heavy weapon x) Having to do kills with this gun in pvp would have been way too grindy (on top of not being a really good pvp heavy because of its charge and travel time) Bungie may be stupid when it comes to what we can or want to do...but here...even them could realize that it would have taken weeks or months for many of us to do the pvp part XD.

If players are not forced into pvp hopefully the player numbers will continue to drop to critically low number. If that happens maybe bungie will finally do something.

This is probably a one off. It’s a heavy weapon so good luck getting ammo. It charges before it fires It has slow projectile speed and can be avoided

It's a 3 step quest. No guardian kills required because it a heavy weapon.

They finally gave us an option? Thank god! Especially because its a heavy weapon, good luck picking up heavy in PvP. Its funny that so many people before were like, "nah just git gud" when allowing people this choice doesn't impact them at all.

The difference this time is that the 200 points includes your fireteams progress even if they are matchmade players (I’m at 150/200 having never equipped it).

Its a heavy so this time it shouldn’t have a crucible part. But on a primary and secondary it’s reasonable and not too much to ask. You can wait for the quest boosters too its really not that big of a deal
