Am I the only one who doesn't like the Legendary campaign?

I get that there are a lot of people who enjoy difficult content. But when I can't get three minutes in a fight without dying and having to do the whole thing over again, it isn't "a fun challenge," it's annoying. So I try getting a fire team, something that takes some effort as a solo player, and whoops! Now everything has three times as much help, and you're using the freaking token revive system! I thought this was supposed to be just 'difficult,' not literally harder than Grandmaster Nightfalls.

  • I was fine with the locking the light but instead of 15 under recommended they should have just locked it at the recommended power. It would still be difficult but not stupid like it is now. It's not like being higher power really benefits the players outside of not constantly being one shot.

      I made a similar post and got nothing but hate from toxic elitist scumbags that lie about not struggling at all in legendary lol, and subsequently got my account "removed" as punishment from Bungie for not putting up with their laziness or the toxic losers that replied to my post. The darkness zone encounters are overly annoying and feels like artificial quest lengthening to be quite honest... But of course everyone wants to keep suckin bungies toes. 🤷‍♂️ my suggestion is to not be afraid to infuse your good gear or favorite items and weapons so that youre not at even more of a disadvantage, youll get plenty of upgrade modules. capping the light level was a lazy way for bungie to make the legendary campaign longer and more difficult.

      • Did I swear at the game? Yes, many times. I’ve often said if I don’t cuss when playing a game I didn’t have much fun. Partly because I love the sense of accomplishment in beating it. Though that doesn’t mean something can’t feel too hard. When hopelessness starts to set in, when I finally getting past something feels less like an accomplishment and more like a reprieve from agony, there’s no fun being had. There is sometimes a fine line between the two. And I get that line isn’t in the same place for everyone. For me this campaign got close a couple a times to being unfun, but for the most part it felt just right. It all came down to finding places to get away from the enemy, and seeing the pattern of reinforcements spawn, meaning sometimes your “safe places” would change throughout the encounter. In the end Legendary felt more satisfying to beat than just a relief it was over. The bullet sponge enemies, even the red bars did feel like it was wearing me out. Especially with so many respawn restricted encounters having multiple phases, and no check points. So dying during the final phase could have me redoing 10-15 minutes worth of encounter. I also HATE damage gated immune phases in PvE. It often mean that a boss went immune before they took all the damage my Nova Bomb could deliver. It feels lazy and like BS, and EVERY boss encounter in the campaign does it. For me the issue becomes when devs use lazy tactics like enemies take a full mag to kill each and bosses keep going immune regardless of how much damage I put out I start to get bored with the difficulty. It becomes more tiresome than a challenge. And while this campaign was within the margins for still ultimately being fun and rewarding, it was just barely in there. I think if the restricted respawn encounters were half as many parts, half as many boss immune phases it wouldn’t have felt as exhausting to play through, leaving me ready for more and not needing a break.

        It's reflective of the "New" Lost Sectors system. On 1/1/2021 I got Nacrotic Grips. 3 months later with my Titan, I defeated the sector 4 times straight alone, but A.I. NEVER paid off. I guess that's Bungies plan to keep us grinding. In September I went back into a L.S. only to find them programmed at a higher level. I've had Fallen Captain, fire his gun 45 degrees in the wrong direction up a wall, then watched as the bullets turned, road the wall & finally kill me. With their new shielding system setup, Bungie's fully intents to guarantee fewer players can obtain Exotics. Yeah, it's just how The Legendary Campaign feels, "A.I. unrestricted". A spoiled vendictive child, that Bungie refuses to teach morals, or fair gamesmanship to. I don't know who set the L.C. up, but the A.I. is off the chain. PS. Would anyone like to see the Lost Sector Shot I mentioned. I have it on video.

      • I'm 3 missions away from soloing the legendary campaign. I had one mission where I died 40 times and had 500+ kills. I wouldn't change a thing. It's for experienced players that were ready for WQ to drop. I can tell I've gotten much better since starting the campaign. I'm going to finish soloing this and then I'm going to go back and solo all the dungeons. I especially like how I haven't needed to spec out for champions so I'm still free to use my own play style. Bungie nailed it.

        • I’m going to be super honest. If it’s to hard, don’t do it. It’s not harder than a GM by any means. It’s about on par with a master lost sector in terms of difficulty, and even that’s a stretch. Since D1Y1 the missions and campaign have been INCREDIBLY. The story was always ok-WOW, but the missions themselves were boring. Bungie addressed it with a legendary mode. And to incentivize people to do it, they offered double rewards, an emblem, some triumphs, and 1520 gear to get you 20 lvls above soft cap. A pretty amazing offer for just playing the campaign difficulty we all wanted. I’m sorry you feel like it’s GM level hard, mostly because I’d be worried to see your reaction doing a GM. You’re not forced to do legendary, you’re not expected to enjoy legendary. Legendary is there for players who needed a challenge in PVE content. It gave us a continuous master list sector, and it culminated in a pretty tough final boss fight. So. If it’s to hard, play the regular campaign. Go back to do legendary when you feel like you can handle it. Nothing to feel bad about, but also not worth ranting about either.

        • The legend campaign is literally the d1 y1 difficulty, it’s what every player used to have for just normal content, goes to show how easy the game has become.

              i actually enjoy the campaign as a challenge for once , i die alot , but also feel like im improving in the process , i only gave up on the soloing during ghosts boss solo attempts , with a team of 3 we got it done eventually , then i switched back to solo , currently on the mid boss on cunning did a few tries and died each time , the only frustrating part is if you are far and then make 1 mistake and get one shotted , sometimes luck is also needed , will continue today and see how it goes my recommendation is to use wide range weapons , and hide in the cheesiest corner, like on D1 orbit wipe nightfalls

                • This is far easier than a GM lol. Learn the enemy spawns and come up with a strategy. If you didn't have to start over then it wouldn't be challenging. You wouldn't be forced to master the encounter. You should lower the difficulty. It ain't for you. I thought Legendary was TOO easy at times and steamrolled everything with a Rocket Launcher and DMT.

                • You may indeed be the only one. It’s the best campaign experience yet in Destiny, but just like Halo Legendary it’s not something every player will find fun. Just take your time and use cover and ammo management. You can do it. That being said, it’s not necessary to complete the campaign on Legendary aside from the emblems, extra loot drops, upgrade modules and the exotic at the end which has a super low 46 stat roll. All of these things can be obtain in the game with ease. It’s easier solo than in a full team due to the difficulty scaler. I ran it through on ray 1 with a full team and then solo on another character, the solo run was definitely way easier.

                  • The best Campaign legendary ever!.. the last part was the killer, felt like taking down a Raid boss literally! took us (with random players) at least 6-7hrs to defeat this monstrosity!.. Love it!

                  • I didn't mind the hard mode for the most part I just hated the one time revive it made me and my buddy have to play so cheesy so we didn't lose a life. But beyond that hard mode was fun time.
