With the release of witch queen we have a whole slew of new content and lore to discuss, most importantly we have a LARGE amount of sweet sweet scorn content to go over as a result
In the third mission of witch queen Fynch sends us to the temple of wrath, a place filled with Scorn and as such we get some interesting dialogue about who might be leading them
Ikora suggests the Fanatic, confirming that he's not only alive but escaped the reef as well
Fynch doubts it as whatever's leading the scorn must be "capital P powerful"
At first glance this sounds as if the Fanatic is now a seperate entity from the Scorn, and that he's been abandoned by his own creation and followers
However, throughout the throne world we actually find Scorn bosses called "Fanatic's chosen". The same bosses we saw in Forsaken patrolling the dreaming city. One of which is found in the parasite quest all the way down in the temple of cunning
This subtly confirms that while Fikrul may no longer be the defacto leader of the Scorn, he's still part of the faction. Possibly in subservience to the Witness (which isn't unheard of, as he was beholden to Uldren during Forsaken)
Long story short, Fikrul's still alive and he's involved in some big stuff. Let's go!

4 RepliesI was actually happy they kept him alive. My predictions for this year are we will have a Siva season and a Scorn season

3 RepliesBump! Feel like I haven’t seen you in a long time but every mission with scorn I thought “dang that one forum guy is gonna love this”.

God, i hope they get a season. Seriously, when was the last time they were actually relevant? Like, in forsaken? Hell, they got to have pressage, but even then, it was because of calus, not because of anything involving the fanatic. They have pretty much go next to nothing since forsaken. IT WAS 3 YEARS AGO.

1 ReplyMy thoughts are this raid will feature the scorn as the main enemy and whoever is in that pyramid is leading them. Maybe the Fanatic will be a boss or maybe one of the others will show up.

Edited by SoINinja: 2/25/2022 11:07:38 PMAh, I remember you. You were the #1 supporter of Calvin the Colossus. The most committed Cabal to defending a chest. May he rest in peace. 🪦 Edit: It would be pretty neat to see the Fanatic return again. Perhaps with SIVA powers? If Bungie hasn’t completely abandoned it.
