Like the title says game's hdr is broken and looks washed out no matter how I change visual settings for it, even changing console's hdr setting is not helping too... Please fix this as soon as possible, game is unplayable in hdr mode. And dark parts looks so bad as you can see on pictures.

Same on Xbox SX it’s the same thing that happened before, Bungie keeps breaking the HDR
-
Same thing happens on my Xbox One X. That happens in orbit, or in a dark cave or tunnel too.

Hi, go to the screen settings on PS5/PS4 and change the RGB range to full, then in the TV settings find the options black point or set the black level to low. The game's white point is too high, so all the thorns and dark places are gray and overexposed

I had this issue (blacks were completely crushed, other areas super washed out, weird discrepancies between the menus and the game). I found this solution on reddit, and it fixed my issue (I'm on an ISF calibrated LG CA and PS5): Go to the video menu and reset the settings to default (I think it's square on PS5). You'll have to reset up the field of view, etc...but now everything looks like it should pre-witch queen. (I set my midpoint down to @20-30 and the nits around 750 per the post and those look good). Exactly the same problem. PS5 & A90J. It happens in every image it has black on it, the black part mess the whole image. To make the game a little playabe in HDR you need to change HDR setting and push up the first slider over 70 that makes the image very ugly but you can at least see something. If not you can't even see the lines on the map when you open it. Had to disable HDR to be able to play it.

The whole new part of the game looks horrible. It’s white washed and textures aren’t even rendering for me. It literally looks like Turok 2 at times on my Series X.

4 RepliesIt's beyond frustrating how bungie ignores this issue. At least tell us you're not planning on fixing it

Same issue on PS5

Same issue here. PS5 + LG CX. Looks terrible regardless of in-game HDR settings. Looked great before the update.
-
Same on my LG tv & I’m on PS5
-
Same here Ps5 LG CX

Edited by just4scams: 2/23/2022 4:15:34 AMI’m having the same problem PS5 LG OLED G1 series. Had to disable HDR. Background is gray not black look like the backlight was turned up except OLEDs don’t have backlighting. The OPs image is exactly what I’m seeing.

Didn’t they have the same hdr issues when Beyond Light dropped that required an update?

Same thing as OP’s picture is happening on my ps5 version. I’m running the game on my LG C9, and have had no problems before the WQ expansion. Unfortunately I had to turn off HDR, as it was unplayable using that mode. So unfortunate cause the game is very pretty and in SDR, everything looks muted compared to HDR on previous expansions.

1 ReplyYes that's what mine is like on xbox and in game to
-
Same on Series X. Going through this forum I see quite a few reports from various consoles.
-
It's terrible on both my XSX and my PS5. A shame because the campaign prettiness is being wasted :(

1 ReplyEdited by I_Pro_Archi: 2/22/2022 11:54:05 PMIf you have an LG TV you can turn down the white/black level stabilisers. Find these in your game optimiser menu. It doesn't fix the faulty HDR implementation of Destiny but makes it a lot more playable.

I am having the same issues. Samsung 6 series tv on ps5. My in game looks exactly like the pictures from OP.
