Bungie breaking Consumer Rights Act 2015 (UK) with Witch Queen Pre-Order

I want to preface this by stating I'm UK based and that I've been playing the Destiny franchise since D1 Beta. Whilst I've had my issues with Bungie and the franchise over the years, overall the experience has been mainly positive. This has started to change recently though, and has now peaked with the bungled launch of Witch Queen. Like may D2 players, I play on PS4, and awoke this morning (I'm UK based) to the news that, not only will I not be able to play the download I pre-ordered on the day I was told at 5PM, you've also deleted the entire game and all content I own from my console, and are telling me I can't download and play what I already own, or pre-ordered to play on 22.02.2021, until tomorrow at the earliest. Ridiculous from a company with the resources that you now have, in my opinion, especially after being purchased by the company who makes the damned console you messed up the launch on!! The Consumer Rights Act 2015 says that services must be provided with reasonable care and skill. In my opinion, you did not use reasonable care and skill when you provided this service. I want you to fix the problem before the end of day 22.02 so EU players can actually play the game on the day we were told when pre-ordering & give every player who pre-ordered on PS4, a partial refund to make up for your breach of The Consumer Rights Act 2015 (UK). I feel the partial refund will help alleviate some of the anger being directed towards Bungie from PS4 users. As for the download not being available until 5PM, when we've got to reinstall the entire game of 72GB, how are we supposed to play this on launch day, on a console that throttles download speed, regardless of actual download speed?!?! What was even the point in Pre-Ordering at this point for PS4 players? A Ghost Shell, Emote and not being able to play the game until a day after every other player is what we get!!     7 years and you still can’t get a launch right, It’s hard to want to continue playing Destiny when you clearly don’t give a rats -blam!- about PS4 players. As for Sony they are just plain useless they made a mess of the PS5 launch and now they have screwed over their own players and made you lot look like a bunch of amateurs. You and the muppets at Sony make a good team.🙄

[/quote] To be honest I think that preordering games hurts the gaming industry. Developers used to have to work hard to sell their content, now they receive huge amounts of money before finishing the game. It seems developers are more often releasing games half baked and there isn’t much protection for the consumers. It would be nice for there to be an international body that governs the developers / gaming industry for games that are half baked. Preordering used to be understandable back in the day when digital copies of games didn’t exist and there were a limited number of physical copies available. Now though? Better get those preorders in before they run out of digital copies…..

        • I called Microsoft today and got a refund for The -blam!- queen 😂 110$ back in my pocket. Bungo can lik abungho. After playing since D1 LAUNCH I had enough. Nerfing vex while I was grinding my heart out for it was the last draw for me. They deflated my "want" factor. I'm no expert but shouldn't all the weapons be balanced before they're released? Lololol it's almost like they just release the guns and let us test them then use the meta data to adjust it later 🤦🤮 in the mean time we are all frustrated as hell with a game that has 0 consistency. Pathetic.

            The only thing I dislike about bungie is how they do there trickle effect of content throughout the season and how they do a weekly rotation of new dlc content.While I understand that it's too keep content(and people) coming back and fresh but this is content we paid for and should ALL be released on day of release because we PAID for it!ONLY thing that should be on a weekly rotation or trickle effect of content is nightfalls,iron banner,trials etc.Things we don't pay for

          • Not quite my reaction, but it was an annoyance. Whenever I know a game I own or the system is due an update I leave my console on standby the day before expecting to be able to jump right in. Never happens with Destiny. Having said that, my download ended about midnight so I was able to try it out for a short while. I just watched Prime and Netflix while waiting. Which probably slowed down the download, 😆 Frustrating? Yes. End of the world? No. Season ends 24th May. I'll probably be able to squeeze everything in by then.

I'm sooooo glad I didn't preorder this garbage! Welp, looks like it's back to the wasteland in Fallout 76! People are better off uninstalling and reinstalling the game.

            • You don't own anything. You purchased a license to access the content. If you actually read the rules like you claim, bungie reserves the right to remove or add content at will. They just give us the courtesy of informing us MONTHS before it happens.
