My question is why would anyone care if they did?
Seasonal ranking doesn’t do anything. At most someone could brag to the handful of people who are dumb enough to think seasonal rank is impressive.
Day one raids are contest mode so no benefit there. It’s just a number on top of someone’s head. Tbh I wish they would stop displaying seasonal rankings completely.

Season ranks = XP. XP = artifact power level. I saw a screenshot on Reddit yesterday where a guardian had a 10,292 season rank and was 1500 power level. One of my clanmates looked that guy up on time wasted on Destiny and he was up to 10,996!

Anything +50 and above is worthless but that guy got a crap load of bright engrams. Quick math. 10,300 -100 ÷5 = how many bright engrams he got.

You're capped at how Ober leveled you can be on pve ads and pvp doesn't use artifact power.. so it's really irrelevant how high people get to the season pass

Bounties unlock around 6-8 mods and grinding is part of the game, afk in a thrailway with a macro on isn't playing the game it serves no point other than xp boosting to unlock mods or reach a level to do higher content quicker, it's the same as afk the forges, just play the game switching a game on you pay hundreds of dollars on to sit afk is as pointless as paying someone to get you flawless

While I agree play the hame you paid for.. some people don't have as much time to grind xp or some like to get passive xp while they work or sleep.. either way was not a detriment to the game nor did it trivialize content. Not only that but there is many other places to afk farm.. that was just the most well know lol

Certain activities cap you at a specific power but some activities allow for you to be 50 over. Anything higher than 50 over is pointless. Soloing a Presage is difficult because you are capped. Soloing a Master Presage is much easier because you are allowed to be up to 50 over power level.

Master Vault of Glass is a prime example. My first attempt I was 1342 and got 1 shotted by everything. At 1368 I could take several direct hits from Templar and not die. My 1350 - 1356 teammates said they were getting around 82K - 86K per Sleeper shot, whereas I was hitting 115k per Sleeper shot

Master content allows you to be up to 50 power above recommendation. That is why soloing Presage is Difficult but soloing Master Presage is more easy (minus the timer) but at a power advantage enemies die faster.

If its so incorrect then tell me how my 1350 teammates were dying in a Well during Master Templar challenge and were only doing 86k per Sleeper shot and I could tank everything and get 115k per Sleeper shot at 1368?

This means once you are 20 light level above an activity, your damage taken will be as low as possible. Your damage dealt is also based on the same, which again caps once it is 20 levels above the enemies. In short, you deal and receive the same amount of damage at 1381 as you would at 1500. There are numerous reddit posts verifying this with plenty of data to back it up. It has been this way for quite some time.

So in short, I had the details a little fuzzy but you do indeed benefit from being higher than the recommended power level in Master content.

Yes, but keep in mind for an activity such as Master VOG, you still benefit from levels up to 1380 (or 50 artifact levels). While this is not absolutely necessary, it is still very necessary to get to 21 Artifact Levels to be 9 below Master VOG, which means getting about 220 Season Pass Ranks, so getting this early in the season is preferred. To be clear, I'm glad the Thrallway is getting nerfed, but there is absolutely a reason people want to get high Season Pass Ranks.

Thats true, you are only allowed to ever be 50 levels above an activity. (Some activities cap lower obviously)

It will matter with witch queen, as you’ll be able to unlock every mod in the artifact, which will require a lot of xp, probably.
