All the matches are just sweats. Enough said

New players always get whomped in PvP, especially established PvP, until they find their feet. One would think that over a decade of CoD and "Christmas Noobs" would have made this abundantly clear by now.

1 ReplyDon't play it.

6 RepliesAs a pretty bad pvp'er that finally found happiness by not playing it any more I think it's probably got to the point where they just seperate the pve and pvp completely, I have nothing against the pvp community but I really don't wanna be even a small part of it. I see them on here all the time boasting about 700,000 players in a single day, and that is frankly amazing and well done to those guys and gals, but if those figures really are anywhere near true why do they need dudes like me running it 3 times a week for a pinnacle? Or even worse running it for a week to get a catalyst. And before the usual mouthpieces pipe up with 'you don't play all the game, you don't get all the rewards'. Why not? It's a game, nothing more, let me get my pixel treasure shooting ads on the moon and they can get theirs forged in the fire of the crucible, everyone is happy.

Crucible is no longer a better place. Fixed it for you. Also:
never has been
1 ReplyEdited by Morakx: 2/15/2022 3:28:09 PMIt's terrible and completely unenjoyable for both spectrums of players. New players hate it, vets hate it. Even pvp sweats hate it. That's not due to the matchmaking mainly. The main reason is the lack of content and attention (mainly pvp maps) this dev gives pvp. They removed 11 pvp maps and added none in 3 and a half years. The game mode feels dead and therefore more and more players ignore it. A dead playlist will always have horrible and unhealthy matchmaking. That's how it works. It's on Bungie to actually "renew their pvp focus" after false promising to do so for the 100th time.

It hasn’t been since SBMM got removed and I am against SBMM coming back because it was just as sweaty. Actually it got like this because of the vanilla stages of D2 ie removing Combined Arms or larger maps in favor of smaller ones. There has never been any real map redesigns but removal of them for the sandbox changes.
-
If your new you’ll be put with new-ish players easy games untill you start popping off, or unless there are no new players you’ll play anyone else. They can’t put you with low k/d or new players if there aren’t any online at the time your looking for a match..
-
No longer? Pssh give me a point in time when it was. D1 doesnt count.
-
It's bc the game is older and lots of veterans. Noobs I feel make up a small portion of the game. And there isn't much they can do except maybe merge old n new Gen servers
-
1 ReplyYah every other multiplayer game allows new players to top frag! Why does destiny take time an effort to get results! What an outrage.
-
3 RepliesI like the pvp, just needs sbmm. 🤷🏻♂️
-
Came back for a few games after half a year more off , aside from functional Pinnacle grabs for PvE. I've honestly forgotten how bad it is. Nothing but wall to wall Adept Palindromes and Shotguns - still after all this time - with Lorentz, Last Words, Chaperones. As usual great times ONLY if you love those but just a terrible experience for anything else. I'd also forgotten how few user options there are. How much camera shake there is. How much screen flash and other visual interference. Went straight back to other game's PvP I just can't go back to this outdated coding. Destiny 2: PvE.

6 RepliesWhy would a gamemode that is designed exclusively to test your accuracy, movement and knowledge of the game ever be considered “ friendly “ for new players? It is the least forgiving with an almost endlessly scaling difficulty factor. Vs PVE which is rather static in comparison.
-
No longer? It never was. The matchmaking only breaks up teams to "Find a better match" when YOU win, but never fails to stick you against a full premade team.
-
Not friendly for vets either tbh. I just don't play crucible. MM is terrible. Get my pinnacles done for the season and occasional bounty.
-
A new light matchmaking pool should be a thing. Imagine cheaters and new players in the same pool. So many reports lol so many
-
That’s what happens when you are one of the only new players unfortunately. 95% of destiny players have been playing the game for a decade. I can only imagine trying to hop in and keep up with lobbies today as a new player.
-
Yep I’ve paid good money on a game that I can’t play fully. PvP is just absolutely shocking. Now they’ve forced us to play cross platform that’s completely crap.
-
Well crucible has alot more variables than any other pvp game
-
Would you class my Titan as a sweat in pvp??? Considering I’ve only ever used mida and side arms through the whole of d2 💪 there’s times where I have stomped whole teams and there’s times where I’ve been absolutely destroyed by teams.. You take the rough with the smooth and just keep playing 👌
-
Its either 6 stack or get smacked. Im not griefing but if i dont i get trapped with .5s and that my friend is a recipe for a loss.
-
Why shouldn’t new players know what they are getting into? Makes less sense to provide a fake sunshine and rainbow playlist to lure them in.
-
Edited by SolarCerberuS: 2/15/2022 8:16:34 PMIts fine most of the time just needs freelance for all modes and tiered matchmaking. And new maps hell Id even be happy with some old D1 maps returning from Mars and Venus

2 RepliesEdited by hate n payne: 2/15/2022 7:30:44 PMIf they would focus on changing the map designs or bring back Combined Arms, PVP would play more casual. The reason it plays like it does now is because they have spent each sandbox adjusting new META replacements while removing maps. When they brought back the 3 small maps, that was a clear indicator that the game was leading towards a more competitive scene versus a fun one. It was even more of an indicator during the beginning stages of D2 when double primaries were the avenue for gunplay in PVP while Combined Arms was left in the dust in D1.

4 RepliesEdited by Impartial-Axiom: 2/15/2022 2:46:37 PMYear 3 Destiny 1 was the best I’ve seen crucible in my time.

11 RepliesAs long as bungies letting streamers dictate what's best for pvp you should quit wasting your time man. We likely won't see sbmm back because that would mean players at a higher skill would have to play players just as good, and as we saw they hate this very much.
