Exotic Primaries that I think will benefit the most from the 40% Damage buff against minors

Now, this list might seem a little predictable because these weapons do one of three(ish) things: Chain damage/explosion, increased damage on kill, and auto-reload, but I believe that these weapons will be the best performing Exotic Primary Weapons because of these traits. [b]Now keep in mind that the buff increases damage to only minor, red health bar enemies. We're also going to assume that you're equipping these weapons for slaying lots of ads very well.[/b] For these reasons, [b]I’m choosing to rank Malfeasance pretty low here as it's very much meant for sustained damage against a high health target like a yellow bar enemy, meaning they won't benefit from slaying minor enemies very well.[/b] However, Malfeasance gets passive Taken damage increased without having to do anything so it has a pretty small step up to qualify for an honorable mention. For this buff to be fully utilized, [b]we're looking for weapons that are built for mowing down endless groups of enemies whether it be through explosions, increased damage, and/or auto-reloading your weapon[/b] [u][b]Please also keep in mind that I’m not going to include all Exotic Primaries as they all benefit from the buff, I’m just saying which ones I think would benefit the most from the buff. This list also assumes that you have the catalysts for these weapons if there are any available for them.[/b][/u] [b]Weapons that I think are low-tier that still benefit from this damage increase are Jade Rabbit, Hard Light, Skyburner’s Oath, and Tommy’s Matchbook. All these weapons increase your damage in some way, but those ways are somewhat situational.[/b] In Jade Rabbit’s case, the 40% buff might make the weapon deal too much body damage in lower-level content which means it can’t benefit from its main way of dealing extra damage from getting lots of body shots. [b]Weapons that I think are mid-tier for this buff would be Ace of Spades, Dead Man's Tale, Devil's Ruin, Le Monarque, SUROS, Sweet Business, Outbreak Perfected, No Time to Explain, Ticcu's Divination, and Hawkmoon. All these weapons would make pretty good choices with the 40% buff in mind, but I feel like we haven't crossed into god-tier ad clear status yet. [/b] Now you may be asking yourself at this point, "Why are Hawkmoon. DMT, and Sweet Business here? DMT and Hawkmoon need sustained damage for their perks and Sweet Business doesn't even have a damage increase!" That may be true, but think about it like this: In comparison with Jade Rabbit, both Hawkmoon and DMT can both thrive off of their perks very well as they encourage and reward accuracy with requiring headshots for their damage increases. In Hawkmoon's case, even if the damage increase is in one bullet, that one bullet can help a lot in higher difficulty content against more bulky red bars and even getting in some extra shield damage in a pinch. DMT is sort of in this same boat and can get some nice damage increases as well. Sweet Business, while not exhibiting any major damage increases, can auto-reload thanks to walking over any ammo brick that you see which gives it more ad slaying potential. [b]Weapons that I think are high tier for this buff are Sunshot, Graviton Lance, Riskrunner, Monte Carlo, Bad Juju, Trinity Ghoul, and Tarrabah. These are the weapons I feel like can put a good scare into large groups of enemies.[/b] Sunshot and Graviton Lance are very simple weapons but have some of the best ad clear potentials in the game. Essentially the premise is, "Shoot gun, get kill, watch fireworks". The chain explosion potential in both of these weapons is insane, [b]although Graviton Lance has the slightest edge in this regard since it's inheriting the 10% damage buff that all Pulse Rifles are getting. Sunshot also has a very strong advantage of having one of the fastest reload speeds on a hand cannon in the game as well.[/b] Huckleberry is a MONSTER of a weapon, able to kill pretty much any red bar in sight without having to reload a single time as long as you're getting kills. Fun fact, its Rampage perk is actually the unnerfed version of Rampage all the way back in D2Y1 meaning instead of increasing to 33% like it normally does, it increases to a staggering 66% damage increase at 3 stacks. [b]That means with the 40% buff at optimal range, you're looking at a 106% damage increase at full stacks and we're not even mentioning that it increases its DPS naturally via increasing your fire rate while you hold down the trigger.[/b] Bad Juju is in a similar boat as well, but because of the way that Super regeneration is changing, [b]this could potentially be the meta primary Exotic as not only can you increase damage and auto-reload on kill, you also get full-auto, increased super regen with each stack of String of Curses, and the 10% Pulse Rifle Damage buff![/b] Riskrunner is low-key a very great ad clear tool as well as defensive utility, but its main drawback is being able to proc its chain damage and auto-reload every time you take Arc damage. However, if you consider the enemies that we're fighting in the Witch Queen, this weapon becomes easier to use. [b]When using Riskrunner, make sure you're always taking damage from Thrall melee attacks, Knights that shoot Hive Boomers at you, and Wizards that shoot lightning at you. If you do that, this weapon will work wonders for you.[/b] Monte Carlo is also a very strong option! Being able to constantly generate melee energy while also being able to auto-reload and increase weapon damage on melee kill makes for a very unique and amazing choice to have as your Exotic. [b]Warlocks and Titans with their new Void melee abilities will especially be able to take more advantage of the melee recharge rate and get rewarded with a very consistent damage buff.[/b] Trinity Ghoul... I have no words for how blatantly easy and powerful this weapon is to use. So you know how you're supposed to aim at enemies with weapons in order to kill them? Trinity Ghoul has NO TIME TO AIM THAT IT DOESN'T EVEN HAVE TIME TO AIM. All you just need is ONE Arc kill of ANY kind and you can just shoot the ground near a bunch of enemies and watch as it chains to 5 of them to kill them instantly. [b]It's like I always say, Trinity Ghoul is my favorite Grenade Launcher! It even has Chain Reaction like Salvager's Salvo! WHAT!?! It's not a Grenade Launcher? It's a Bow?!?[/b] Okay, I said that Bad Juju might become meta, but let's look at something that might have been unchained from its shackles from the Menagerie: Tarrabah. [i]This weapon exhibits no auto-reload, no damage perk, or explosion/chain damage perk of any kind.[/i] Why do I regard it as a high-tier weapon that can benefit from the 40% buff? [b]Versatility. Potential. A weapon that could figuratively function as a well-rounded Special Weapon or even a Power Weapon in some scenarios.[/b] With the other guns on this list, ALL (except Riskrunner) of them require one kill in order to proc their special effect. Not Tarrabah. Tarrabah is way smarter than that and realizes that it can be good in almost ANY situation and now that it's getting the 40% buff PLUS the buffs it's getting to its perk... [b]keep an eye on this semi-forgotten Raid Exotic. Its very fast rate of fire may help you to become a Minigun Turret on legs.[/b] Anyway, thanks for reading my long-winded post. Sorry if any of my weapon placements didn't vibe with you. These are just my opinions after all and we haven't even gotten to use any of the new exotic primaries coming in the Witch Queen.     • I’m looking forward to trinity ghoul for sure, but I personally am curious on how Cerberus will do, I’ve always wanted to see that gun do well, but it’s always gotten shafted.

      • Something you didn't really give credit to is explosion effects are also getting a buff. Ticuu's is going to be S tier, especially since bows are once again a champion mod.

          • You forgot fighting lion. Which will be able to 1 shot all red health enemies now. And is void so it pairs nicely with void 3.0 for wells.

            • Basically any primary with a lot of ammo, ad clear, or can build up damage on red bars to use on orange and yellow, especially for exotic pulse rifles since that's 10% on pulses in general and 40% on exotics against red bars. Bad Juju, Outbreak, and NTTE are going see a big increase in PVE, especially if the NTTE turret also scales up with it. IF they are kind enough to FINALLY release and buff the Malfeasance catalyst, that would also be great on certain missions. If it hasn't been changed since it was data mined in Forsaken, kills with Explosive Shadow cause a bigger, more powerful explosion. If the damage against Taken is consistent with Invaders in Gambit, it hits Taken like it was a pre-nerf 120 HC. Add in the 40% buff to red bars and Lucky Pants for good measure, that alone would be powerful on top of the explosion damage it got earlier this season. But what I mean by buffing the catalyst is that perk is almost useless as is. If the explosion happened anyway, but scaled with the slugs in the target before death, then it would be B or A tier, certainly S tier with more users and Taken.

              • I think Polaris Lance will do well, especially with an artifact mode. I know 150s are not meta but it's a nice feeling weapon.

                This is a really nice breakdown. Definitely can't wait for the Graviton Lance and Sunshot buffs.
