Seraphim was the reason why I stayed on b.net for a while, told me a bit about how it worked etc etc. although i don't know him too well, it still hits like a truck.

I remember about a year ago when I made a post here about mid-2000s NFS games. Seraphim commented on it and we had a brief exchange about games like NFS Carbon etc. It was a small act of kindness but it stuck with me. This is a massive wake-up call to me that life can throw a curveball at any time. Rest in peace.

It was an all-day event, so I only managed to chat with him for about 10 minutes before he had to get back to it, and he was leaving the next day so that’s all the time we had to say hi, but I purposely left my desk to go meet him when I heard he was visiting. While he was excited to be at Bungie, I was excited to see him. I’ve known him since 2015 through the website and Discord, but had never met him in-person nor seen his face before. We took a photo to capture the moment. In 2015, he was asked to become a Mentor to help our Germany community. He wanted his avatar to be a [url=https://i.chzbgr.com/full/8075904768/h853AE74E/is-mega-absol-sephiroths-pok%C3%A9mon]fanart of Mega Absol[/url] from Pokemon because it represented his username well (Seraphim – Angel wings; Crypto – Dark/Shadow Pokemon type in German). In 2017, we gave him Ninja powers to help moderate the website, but he never stopped trying to help people and answer their questions. Sometimes he’d answer random moderation questions in here, and other times share his opinion about a game. Some of you would even create threads about him, hoping he’d respond. He enjoyed it. I don’t even know what to say…. Maybe I’ll try this. Gone but not forgotten.

I never had extensive interaction with him, but from what I saw and experienced, he explemfied the essence of this place, he jumped in on random posts, he made his own creative contributions and got involved when English started colonizing other subforums. He also laughed at a terrible German joke I made once, it was a random post, but it showed he cared and loved the goings on of this place. His presence will be missed.

I cant recall interacting with him personally but I always enjoyed seeing how he interacted with us folks down in these cursed lands. Made me feel like us regular users and ninjas werent so different after all, a much needed thung for this. Thats another can of worms tho so lets not open that here eh. Sad to see him pass, man. I may have never known you Crypto but you always had my respect, I hope you find some peace.

Rip the one good one.

Sera was a good friend. He wasn't a mentor when I met him though it didn't take Bungie long to recognize him. I'm saddened by this news that he has passed away more than I can express. I had treasured memories of him before he passed and feel the pain of knowing we won't make any more. I loved him and miss him so.
