Microsoft buys boardwalk so Sony bought waterworks

2 RepliesUgh, not a fan of this bidding war. Apparently Bungie will still be semi-independant and able to release games on all consoles. The reason Sony acquired them was for their experience with live service models. More "Ugh".

2 RepliesSo far it looks like it could be worth it, they are saying that they are kinda free but who knows.

Yeah… Not sure howI feel about that. Could be bad, usually is. But who knows. When Microsoft bought them out they made halo for console.

Everybody out playing Monopoly

When you’ve been fired by #4 and #5 why not go for broke and get canned by #1?

1 ReplyI find it odd bungie left Microsoft for creative freedom to do what they want IE destiny, then they sell out to Activision only to break out of that partnership for “creative freedom” and now they’re back to have yet another overlord above them lol. I personally won’t be surprised if bungie tries to get out of this in a few years, especially when Sony says something like “we’ll let them self publish if they wish”. Like......who buys a company to let them do what they want when they were already doing that as individuals. Sony has a plan with bungie so I doubt this statement they made.

1 ReplyAm i the only one that's very, very concerned about all these AAA game studio acquisitions? My taste in games is very, very niche, and i worry about the inevitableday when all of the worlds games are being made by a handful of mega game publishers.

Microsoft: 👀

Hopefully they can make it so my teammates don’t have an iq below room temperature.

2 RepliesMicrosoft better not buy from soft

After getting burned and jettisoned from Acti-Blizz to fighting off MS' advances, insisting that they are better off indie? Huh. I figured it was only a matter of time before Sony would answer with something, and this definitely crossed my mind. Guess the question is what Sony purchased if it doesn't appear to affect anything, at least near term.

Here's hoping they give Bungie the kick between the legs they need to get on the right track.

Microsoft: Buys Activision. Sony: 2 can play that game…
