Clean up clan names
Hello Bungie,
I am trying to figure out a new clan name but there are so many clans with 0, 1 or 2 players that haven’t played Destiny for a very long time. Whatever I try to use especially one word clan names are all used.
Maybe add a requirement that there should be active members. If no member is active for a year the clan name is available again for others to use.

2 RepliesWoW uses a system where a characters name can get available again if a player hasn't played for 2 expansions (which is around 4 years). Seems fair to me in WoW, but in Destiny they have to cut it down of course to 2 years (1 year per expansion).

7 RepliesBy this logic, we should also be able to take people's cars they havent driven for a while, houses that havent been lived in for a season, spouses that havent slept together, and money in peoples bank accounts that hasn't been used. Just because someone isn't actively using something of theirs gives you no right to take it. Wouldn't it mean more if you created your own, original name? Could you feel proud of yourself knowing that someone else created something that you basically stole?

Clan names shouldnt be censored either if they dont have swears or offensive words too. My friends clan has been around for like 4 years and the name a few months ago was censored to numbers. My Nutts are Ghaulded will live on forever in our hearts.

1 ReplyImagine starting a clan 5 years after the fact and feeling entitled to a clan name of someone who got it first. The other day google wouldn’t give me my first name as an email. I tried telling them that my first name belongs to me therefor all emails with just a first name should be reclaimed until my name belongs to me. In case my totally true story was hard to follow I get your point but I don’t think you have thought it through from another perspective. Your asking for sweeping changes that many or may not negatively impact so many. It seems selfish and lazy for hundreds or thousands of names need to be taken from others just so you don’t have to think up a variation of creative alternative.

We can’t type the word an-ger on the forum, but somehow clans can get away with typing the N word in their name. I wouldn’t have even noticed, but yesterday there was a guy who was lagging, so I took a quick look at his profile.

I mean, there's a forum for clan recruitment and whatnot but otherwise it's up to creativity Unfortunately that'll never happen to the inactive clans cause outside a join log bungie has no real way of tracking its activity [spoiler]you leave my solo clan out of this lol[/spoiler]
