The moon
A seemingly constant desert of glass and stone
Crevasse and crater after crevasse and crater giving way to the occasional outcrop of rounded, dusty terrain
Between two dilapidated domes lay a small, blinking beacon
Pulsing purple, laying to one side
Out of nowhere, in a cacophony of dust and thruster decompression, it is thrown against a nearby wall, hitting the ground with a metallic clunk
Where it stood moments ago now hums with activity, 2 small, exploratory vehicles, space ships... Of sorts
Beneath, materialised 2 guardians
A warlock and a hunter
Both weapons ready, scanning the nearby area, ready to flash burn anything that might be brave enough to approach the noise of two whole spacecraft engines
Even idling, most city dwellers kept their distance from ships, believing by some logic that they could get sucked into the back end of a thruster
A notion that always made Siege5 chuckle, thinking of the days of hitting an old, rusty ship with a pipe to try and start it
Moments later, their ships dispersed, retreating to a higher altitude
Leaving the guardians alone, silence floods the area like water, almost drowning out the calm pulse of the nearby node
Its purple flash catching the hunters eye, pacing over and picking it up, she analysed the small data pad hidden within its casing
"Looks like it's still functional, good thing these were spoken about to the vanguard, where wed be without saint, I don't know" she said with an inquisitive laugh
"Play it, if it's purple, chances are it's him, so far as I've seen, that's the colour he chose for his diodes" responded Seige, his back turned to the whole conversation, weapon still scanning
For good reason too, put simply the moon was...is a wasteland
Once a symbol of progress for humanity, a beacon in its own right, a colony of pioneers
Now, the only thing that calls this place home, only answers to a bullet or blade
The beacon hummed and murmured as it processed its data, shaking slightly as its tiny motor spun down to divert its remaining power to its speaker
~static~ "if you hear this" ~static~ "dont" ~static~ "I'm going d" ~static~ "nto the pit but i" ~static~ "he other way"
"Yeah, that Doz alright, guess we're going to the hellmouth, I hate that place, it's all...bones and hanging chains, not even one trophy kill" he laughs, turning to his fellow guardian whom had already transmatted her Sparrow
"Guess he's only got one bar of signal, how deep do you think he went?" She replied, holstering a long handcannon on her thigh
"Deep enough, probably too deep, knowing Doz he'll go off trying to punch the biggest thing down there, he won't wait until we get to his F.O.B." Siege pondered, checking his ammo count despite not firing a thing yet
"Shall we?" The hunter motioned forward
"After you" the warlock laughed
His only response a whir of microgravity thrusters and the dust she left behind
To which, he promptly followed suit
Speeding off after her
~Two contrails paint delicate patterns across the moonscape as the guardians ride towards the hellmouth~

I gotta admit, I'm not even sure where I'm going with this at the moment lol

This was great. I’d like to see more of this.
