Destiny 2 RNG is Real...sort of
Here is actual data about RNG from 10/5/2021 - 1/10/22, I wanted to analyze at least 1000 data points to see if over time, loot drops balanced out to 12.5% across the board. 5 Armor + 3 Weapons = 8 possible types. 100/8 = 12.5%. Data points collected were any truly random 1330 drop, not included were forced rewards such as nightfall specific loot or other mission specific loot i.e. hawkmoon, gjallarhorn, etc.
Here is what I found: Armor seems to be within reason with all being around 12.5%, but not weapons! Look at kinetic weapons drops vs. special this is what I would call statistically significant. Obviously, it is possible that this was just "my" RNG, but once you have 1000 data points things should balance out.
Drops Number %
Helm 122 12.0%
Gloves 135 13.3%
Chest 123 12.1%
Boots 132 13.0%
Class 107 10.5%
Kinetic 78 7.7%
Special 201 19.8%
Heavy 118 11.6%
Total 1016

Has bungie said how drops work? Like does amount of gear in each slot relate to your chance at a slot drop? Does the cycle start with a slot via rng then an item in the randomly chosen slot? Or is it a total list of possible loot with all the same chance so if one slot has more possible drops then it’ll overshadow others?

It truly is…. I ran legend lost sector Tuesday for cuirass and got it in two tries. Yesterday I ran for mask of bakaris and it took about 20 ….

I`m convinced RNG is being generated by a toaster oven in the break room.

Edited by ScriptMania: 1/12/2022 3:52:02 PMThat confirms the low primary weapon drops, noticed that before.
