Stop forcing crucible/gambit for catalysts
PvE should always be an option. Not everyone enjoys crucible especially with certain weapon types.

I really wish the catalysts had multiple unlock options so both the PvP and the PvE players can unlock them without being forced to play in an event they do not like. I would expand that to include obtaining exotics as well. I found one that had multiple steps in PvE to continue unlocking it, then it demanded that I finish a raid to get it. I was very annoyed that I had completed all those PvE tasks just to be thrown into an event I *really* do not like.

Maybe it's time to be more creative Bungie hmm? I'm tired of you forcing people to kill guardians every time to get catalyst!!!!! And at least...start remove cheaters from pvp activites so maybe....maybeeeee pvp back to normal.

Forcing a player to engage in PvP in order to acquire a catalyst for a weapon they like is ridiculous, imo. I do not like PvP, have never liked it in any game I have played, and resent being forced to engage in it to complete any objective I am working towards. I feel that Bungie should give an option between PvE or PvP, knowing that there are some people that just do not enjoy PvP at all.

1 ReplyI wouldn't say don't have the option to get the catalysts from PVP but when it comes to quests I'd like to see there be a PVE and PVP option path to choose/complete. That way both sides can get enjoyment or less of a hassle from it.

I mean I’m all for this.. crucible is borderline boring as it is I’d much rather there be pve steps instead of pvp ones.

It should be an either/or option. Either do this task in PvP or, this task in Gambit or this task in PvE to complete. That way EVERYONE is happy and can complete it. But we all know it’s to force non PvP players there to feed the PvP sweats and to say look at our numbers in PvP. They are healthy when , no, there not. Because if this wasn’t the reason then we WOULd have an either/or option. Just my opinion. (But I’m right also)

My casual friend LOVES ticcu bow and he just acquired his ticcu catalyst. He had stopped trying once he saw he needed 50 guardian kills with ticcu when it first came out. I motivated him recently and he freaking did it all by himself. He doesn’t PVP at all. So yes remove PVP only requirement. It scares casuals that just want to enjoy basic game aspects. Give them an alternative.

They did give us a choice a while ago but then realised no one is playing PvP/Gamshit and now we have to in order to up the numbers in those playlists.

1 ReplyAs a beginner, I didn't understand this either, but it was meant here that I should use my "noodle". But I probably should have written only 1 sentence. The point for me is just - if I want to play PVP, then I use weapons that are personal to me, not weapons that a quest tells me to use. It's like "[i]I have to use the Torx screwdriver instead of the Philips screwdriver?![/i]". In PVE it's different, there I can play around with different weapons because the NPC are not comparable to real players. The info was "just don't do the quest", or "that's just how it is". "Get over it." Now that I understand the idea of Bungie and some people here better, I think you should only get Catalysts in raids (or Iron banner) on the hardest difficulty, where you are not allowed to die (otherwise start over). And then you have to do that 10 times > "but that's terrible!!!" > "but it is, get over it. The point is that you experience the full range of the game and emotions" > "ok...".

1 ReplyI think a good balance would be to make progression slower for PvE then. I'm pretty 'meh' at PvP and the 100 kills with grenade launcher in PvP is a bit difficult for me. I would be totally okay if we had the option for 100 kills in PvP or 1000 kills in PvE with grenade launchers. I also find myself not really playing the objective and just hoping I get grenade launcher kills, so sorry to whatever team I'm on as my main focus is that.
