Battlefield had the same problem with vehicles and still does. They nerfed the health of vehicles, what this does is make them very weak to strong rockets such as helicopters, air to ground missiles, but very strong against rocket launchers and c4, they could of just buffed c4 and rocket launchers because that wouldve solved the problem in a better way, rather than nerfing certain vehicles health.
What im sayimg with this is that nerfing hunter will just make people switch to warlock and titan, the hunters i see in pvp are usually using top three nightstalker, and very skilled players using bottom tree gunsli-blam!-, because those are the only viable ones currently for high end pvp. If they would nerf stompees and those subclasses hunter would just be there, sure hunter subclasses can make some interesting builds but not better than warlocks and titans for bothe pvp and pve.
Let me set and example for pve and pvp:
Celestial nighthawk: titans got cuirass of the falling star which does not need a crit to do max damage, this means its more safe and forgiving to use than nighthawk.
Nightstalker as a whole: apart from invis, the subclasses serve no purpose in pvp or pve, in pve there is seasonal mods that overpower nightstalker in many ways, i pvp the tether grabs wayyy to slowly for the movement in destiny 2, this includes hunter, warlock and titan movement.
Blade barrage: nothing to say is there really, its just really bad at the moment.
Arcstrider as a whole: fun to use in both pve and pvp, in pve you have raiden flux which is good for ad clear and some boss dps, in pvp it lasts a long time and has additional bonuses from running and meleeing, solid super overall.
Revenant... : where should i start, meh, in pvp that is, since shatterdive got nerfed all stasis supers are more pve focused now which is good but in my opinion stasis was a mistake alltogether.
Nerfing stompees: nerfing stompees would make some pretty scummy builds for hunter, gemini jester with top tree nightstalker, shinobous vow hunter throwing skip grenades constantly with 100 disp and demo on all weapons and so on. Stompees have always been that one exotic that hunter can rely on in pvp because its gives hunters, more hunter stuff, hunters in d2 have always been the tricky ones, titans the tanks, and warlocks the healers, in terms of pve atleast, in pvp every class can move at an insane speed, with hunters needing to bonk their head.
What im trying to say from all this is that dont nerf hunter, buff warlock and titans, cause thats what would make sense, bring them to the same level as hunters and not hunter to the same level as warlocks and titans, in my opnion this makes the most sense, now what would those buffs be is up to bungie, and im simply making a long forum post trying to make all classes viable in pvp and pve.
But if a stompee nerf is in sight then just make it do the same thing as bones of eao, add one extra jump, no bonus mobilty, no lo-blam!- slide, just one extra jump, simple really.
And if anyone really read this then i really do appriciate it since destiny means so much to me and others, i would not like for destiny community to become a bad place.

8 RepliesNo, nerf titans and warlocks.

I didn’t read anything except the title. Nothing in this game needs nerfing. A lot of things need buffs. Nerfing one thing at a time is what we got when D2 first released. It makes the game suck. What makes this game fun is when we have some tools to use that wrecks sh!t.

1 ReplyOutside of the super duration bottom tree striker shouldn’t have been touched.

Well hunters aren’t broken to begin with…

1 ReplyGive warlocks an exotic chest peice that gives you six icarus dash available in the air or ground (no cool down)and disorient near by enemies!!!

All this crying over one class being able to be more nimble. 🤣🤣🤣🤣 It’s truly a joke when movement gets -blam!- about.

A quote from fellow forum member SteelMaelstorm: "Take a quick look at pinnacle PVP data: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LLuIy8487bw (Drewskys Channel) * One character class dominates PVP * One armor piece dominates that class in PVP * One weapon type dominates all PVP events Bonus Weapon Info: Hand Cannon plus Shotgun kills in the last Trials = MORE THAN THE NEXT 12 WEAPON TYPES COMBINED! Bungie is approaching Games Workshop levels of incompetence for balance - yes, it's that bad. Bungie does not understand how to make real course corrections. 2 RepliesI agree that there are some parts of Hunters that need buffs. - Celestial Nighthawk - Needs 20% damage buff on a crit to put in line with Geomags and Cuirass. You sacrifice crit for a faster use from range and the highest damage with Knock Em Down active. - Tether - Needs to either be the highest Debuff or Artifact mods need to not be just “insert Debuff here” mods. I’d wait until WQ and Void 3.0. - Blade Barrage - Needs better total damage on par with Top Tree Nova when landing direct hits with your blades. Also just adding burn damage to the blades would make it a much more fluid kit, since you can just lead off with the super to get max stacks. The knife trick needs to be easier to land against a single target. - Spectral Blades - I’d wait until Void 3.0. Shattering Melee needs a lo-blam!- duration, but may not be a problem in Void 3.0. Arc Staff is really strong for Add clear, Stasis is still cracked in PvE and solid in PvP. Stompees and Shatterdive both needed nerfs, one down one to go. Hunters have innate bonuses over Warlocks and Hunters in PvP with the fastest and sometimes strongest class ability and the best jump for fighting in the air. “Movement Skill-gap” doesn’t matter when one class has significantly stro-blam!- movement across the than the others, with no draw back.

3 RepliesHunter is a selfish class. Lets just be honest. That's fine though, becaue even MMOs selfish DPS classes are still viable or even powerful in many games. The issue is two-fold: 1) Hunters selfish kits don't do enough to warrent their usage outside of PvP or mabye solo play with self invis spam. It's not strong enough to make me want to use a hunter when a Titan or Warlock can use a selfish subclass that's comparable to a hunter with. 2) Warlock and Titan super 'buffs' just outscale whatever 1 hunter could provide. Yes, I am calling for a bonus % damage nerf from both warlocks and titans from bubble and well. Providing strong defensive/resorative team benifits is strong already. Adding way too high of a bonus damage multiplier is an issue that Bungie is constantly balancing around that hurts solo play or players that just play hunter. I have never and I mean NEVER seen any game worth its salt as an MMO(or MO) in PvE where a class has some kind of party wide 'buff' that increases damage by 30%. At most I have seen is 10-15% for a few seconds.

4 RepliesCelestial does need a buff since it's about 20% weaker than falling star and geomags. Between the 3, it's the only one that needs a crit and falling star gives you a strong overshield. Plus there is the fact the golden gun suffers from falloff damage and most boss encounters are close quarters. So the whole safety from distance is a lie.

There is a stoompees nerf and a fellwinters nerf you might wanna learn how not to crutch on those

2 RepliesThat's a 5 page essay, ain't reading it

3 RepliesHunter aren't gonna get a nerf but alot of buffs are coming or more specific reverts on the nerfs to abilities this teamshot meta can't sustain itself and is incredibly flawed.

11 RepliesAs a Titan main I think the most unnecessary nerf was taking away our shoulder charge. High risk high reward and was fun. And nobody can tell me it was used in Trials anyway cause normally you were shot before reaching the opponent. I agree in general that all classes rather need some buffs than nerfs. Problem always is that Bungie does not want outliers and when something is viable sooner or later it will be nerfed (except for stompee hunters). ;-)

Power creep is real
(CRAYOLA)> mmmm Tasty
They need to buff the Pizza. It is not strong enough -wait. This isn't about food...

Same result

11 RepliesBut like, why? Warlocks are top tier in both pvp and pve right now, and titans only need a bit of help with sentinel. Hunters are still average in pvp, and below average in pve, regardless of what people want to try and claim based on nothing but class populations. If you stop nerfing classes, you create tons of power creep, widening the gap between how useful each class is even more. Buff sentinel and be done with it. Simple as.

If they make it like bones then people Just use the other jump and we’re in the same spot. Warlocks already are strong as all hell, community band wagons on things and doesn’t always clue into what’s the best. Titans could use a bit of love but I’d argue there’s issues in greater need of attention than the classes right now
-
8 RepliesHunters are by far the weakest in crucible and pve, start merging Titans and stop needing hunters.

5 RepliesThe one buff I think we can all agree on: let us look up faster

2 RepliesEdited by Bubble: 1/8/2022 7:12:15 AM
Celestial nighthawk: titans got cuirass of the falling star which does not need a crit to do max damage, this means its more safe and forgiving to use than nighthawk.
With that kind of logic a sword is safer and more forgiving than a linear fusion rifle coz you don't need to crit for max damage. Is it ? Cuirass rewards more than celestial coz it's less safe and less forgiving. A bad titan will waste lot of weapon dps time traveling and recovering from the stomp. Is the rewards difference too big ? Maybe. But being able to use your super then switch to your weapon for dps while staying in the well near the bubble instead of roleplaying a missile has value.
Revenant... : where should i start, meh, in pvp that is, since shatterdive got nerfed all stasis supers are more pve focused now which is good but in my opinion stasis was a mistake alltogether.
Behemoth weird melee and supers are not pvp focused, and not pve focused either. It's the ultimate class to troll your teammates with by putting wall to block their shots.

10 RepliesNah nerf stompees and icarus grip into the ground. Enjoy

Am I really the only one who thinks that class balacing is in an okay-ish spot?
-
So, I know we all do the “nao waiiii, my toy isn’t op!”….and this isn’t meant to call for any buffs or nerfs, I really don’t care. At this point Bungie is going to do their best to keep the population engaged, the largest population is the Hunter class. Basic business sense is to keep them smiling and active. It’s kinda ‘whatever’ at this point, just enjoy the game however you play.
