Am an old player ....
And after 20 years of playing, its something I cant stand anymore.
Who's the moron, so long ago, who decided to implant RNG in games and thought it was a good idea to piss off paying customers and waste their fun in time consuming and repetitive tasks.
Its beyond my comprehension.
Am a pvp player, as far as I am concerned, after the initial and novelty (learning the rope of a game),pve and especially end game pve, is as entertaining (for me ) as watching paint dry.
So when an item I need for pvp is hiddent behind pve rng, it drives me mad.
Btw, I feel the same for pve people forced to participate in pvp they hate to get a pve needed item ...
Now am talking these days about eyasluna, wich is the most op pvp weapon of the moment (no way am gonna raid ...) and more about the Palindrome who could/should be obtainable with reasonnable effort but whose RNG is absurd.
Done 15 legend nightfalls those past 24 hours, not ONE drop, is this a joke ? And further more, considering that when/if it drop it will certainly not be a good roll, so I ll have to go for it again.
Some might say that 15 times of a mindnumbing activity is nothing and that I should be patient, but after 20 years of playing, my patience with these -blam!- mechanics is gone for good ....

RNG is not the problem, RNG is a reasonable way to prevent everyone from having everything and give people reasons to play older content. RNG is a problem in destiny because there is no way to circumvent the abysmal RNG drop-rates. In ESO for example dungeon specific loot is only tradeable with the people who did the dungeon with you and only for 2 hours after, but eso also has an abundance of "unbound" ( tradeable) loot that drops and can be traded. They have a pretty balanced system between good things you can buy and good things you have to farm while alleviating some of the RNG by allowing trading with those who you are farming with. In saying that though, ESO doesn't remove content, so even after hundreds of weapon and armour releases, new classes, dozens of new locations, trials(raids), dungeons etc the system only gets deeper and more sustainable, destiny on the other hand has a handful of good weapons dropping from a handful of activities and with the introduction of the DCV the game becomes more and more shallow making RNG the only system actively working to challenge you. It is a "looter shooter" with no real loot or challange to get the loot, only RNG.

RNG is not the problem it's the drop algorithm which is entirely tunable by Bungie, they freely admit that they have the ability and do to modify what a player gets. Bungie is just stingy also if people are distracted by grinding for a piece of kit it reduces the comment about the lack of new content.

5 RepliesEdited by Sweet Lew 88: 1/5/2022 11:10:37 PMI'm older too. Been video gaming since the early 80s on my Dad's commodore 64, then Calico vision, Atari, NES and so on. The RNG is ok when you expect it. At least you know what games to stay away from. What are you going to play now? Eyesluna is from the dungeon? No raid needed....

“…. Im a pvp player…..” I think I found your problem.

Destiny is a looter shooter - it's meant to be grinded - that's why season's are long. If you refuse to do raids, then it's not the community or even Bungie's fault. Palindrome has dropped for me several times, I just don't get the roll I want. If you recall, Mindbender's was a great shotgun in PvP - but wasn't a guarantee. I personally ran it about 76x and never got it, and I have really good RNG. If you have neither the time or the inclination, this game isn't for you. BTW, Eyasluna is far from the most OP PvP weapon - it's good, it's decent, but there are better. (Ace)

See you in 1 month pvp player

So destiny isn’t made for you, that’s understandable. There’s no need to go on a rant about it. Simply find a better game for you and move on.

Edited by TonnoSenpai: 1/5/2022 11:14:16 PMthe fact you think eyas luna is op makes you a bad pvp and pve player , lmfao, and you are a pvp player? is that a joke? even a dog or a cat have a better kd than you

3 RepliesStop being lazy. You don’t even know where the Luna drops from. Maybe take some time to research games before you play them…..
