So in fortnite you have an emote wheel, right? Wouldn't it make sense to have an expandable emote wheel so you don't have to keep switching emotes just to express yourself? Imagine holding your D-pad or arrows on a keyboard and it brings up a smaller subsection of emotes for each direction (up, down, left, right)

1 ReplyBungie said they can't really add more emotes because of the way THEY designed the caching of the resources. Apparently they load the animation data, probably for physics simulations, into the dedicated auth host they have. It just makes no sense though. Other games figured this out two decades ago, but Bungie can't?

1 ReplyEdited by Jamestown01010: 1/5/2022 5:34:45 AMWhile we’re at it, can we have an option to turn off finishers? Dang thing’s always going off unexpectedly in close combat.

Or they could always use the “less is more” argument in that it creates more consideration and importance to choice. You know, that old gem

1 ReplyI was thinking of holding down the trigger button to allow for 4 more emotes.
-
5 RepliesNo, being able to emote with a single button press is one of the things D2 actually does right. A wheel is a terrible implementation that takes too long. There are other ways to expand the button set without introducing a wheel.

10 RepliesGO PLAY FORTNITE....quit asking for one game to be like another

2 RepliesI saw the word fortnite and didnt read the rest.

Good idea. Plus on console holding say, down on the D-pad to bring up a selection wheel would free up the rest of the D-pad for bungie to use

3 RepliesLol this game has many other issues! Emotes are the last thing bungo shouid focus on
-
Way down on the list of things that need to be fixed in this game.
-
3 RepliesEmotes are useless

I already upvoted this and commented on it. But like … Bungie … this really needs to happen. You push emotes so hard as rewards, Eververse buys, triumph rewards … let us have a more efficient way to use them. This forum is filled with poison and dumb ideas … this is not one of them. Like emotes or not, this is a positive change.

3 RepliesIt would make sense in the long run only because every other game has it and that’s it. I’m that miserable old fart who sees emotes as stupid and groan whenever I see someone using them in actual activities. Like my mates using the heart in the middle of Gambit just to suck up to some girl they’ll never meet.

Yesssss even have it from the ghost menu and only available in social areas & exploration if need be, whatever. 4 emote, especially for people who've purchased emotes/silver, is pointlessly restrictive
-
I agree, just hold one button to show the emote wheel, leaving the others open to fill in as you want
-
I see zero downside to this. Could open up those other dpad buttons for customization on controller.
-
As much as I dislike Fortnite This is a good idea actually

There are so many times when I wish I had basic emotes like Laughing when you see a teammates body get yeeted across the area at the start of Dares or when someone gets bonked on the head by the dare core that falls from the destroyed ship. Other times I need to just point at something to signal something to new players in strikes. It's so odd that a social game like this has such a limit on social emotes.

Yes please 🙂

This!

2 RepliesIt should’ve been done when we asked for an actual emote wheel. Instead they did what we have now. Outriders had a proper emote wheel, and a quick and easy way to dismantle low lv gear at the same time. It’s laughable how Bungie can’t even get the small things right. They still have one of the worst transmog systems implemented in a game. While other games just do it free and easy

1 ReplyI have posted this exact thing a half dozen times. It needs to happen.

2 RepliesEdited by G0lden Hunt3r: 1/2/2022 5:40:37 AMBut there are only 4 buttons on the D pad. And holding it down would still activate the one linked to it.

I had the same idea. Support!
