Handcannon Aim Assist needs nerf

If scout rifles had the same aim assist as handcannons they'd be broken as hell, why are handcannons the only exception. I'm tired of handcannon users getting free headshots around corners with no need to properly re-aim, and in-air accuracy for them needs to be touched too. just saying they shouldn't be the end-all pvp choice, jeez they are prevalent.

  • we've tried HC with less aim assist, range, and precision damage. This has lead them to completely fall off from usage. You might be okay with that, but Bungie wants everything to be viable(except scouts that arent DMT). imo I think there needs to be an overhaul on "precision" based weapons in the sense that they all need to be doing far less body shot damage to compensate. For example I believe HC need a body shot damage nerf so they cant be quick swapped to clean up without precision. HCs should really only be rewarded for hitting all three headshots in a row and die if they cant. People like to say HCs arent forgiving but they really are just like pretty much all "precision" based weapons. Bows bring you past half to the body even tho with the hitboxes for both the head and the arrow are massive they really shouldnt bring you to half. Snipers being able to body shot melee kill which completely negates the downsides of using a sniper which is poor cqc. Linear fusions in particular really need to be doing less body shot damage due to having the most aim assist out of any weapon in the game besides maybe DMT and having pre-nerf flinch all of them pretty much feel like revoker did back in the day. Also intrinsic piercing bullets to hit multiple targets they honestly really need to be rained in.

    • My issue with hand cannons is not even their aim assist, its their range. Why the heck did bungie buff hand cannon range back when they nerfed auto rifles? Just nerfing the auto rifle ttk was more than enough to fix the balance of the game.

    • Scouts in the right range are amazing Pulses in the right range are beyond lethal Sidearms in the right range are amazing I use most weapon types and all work very well against hc users.

        • Some seem to have a little too much range, but that's it. Does hurt my pride though when I'm a good distance away with a scout and somehow get outraged by a hawkmoon or eyasluna/fatebringer...

        • Have you ever tried a scout riffle at long range ? You can litteraly land a headshot while aiming at the legs. (Its not even an exageration, you can do that with basically every scout)

          • Scout rifles have bonkers aim assist but it's only at long ranges. You just never notice because there isn't a lot of big maps.

          • We've been in a world where the ease of use for handcannons was bad. I'm tired of seeing them as much as everyone else, but don't pretend there aren't things out there to counter them.

            • When it comes to aim assist/hit box, scouts are equal to hand cannons. The difference is the airborne and slide accuracy/handling that hand cannons have along with the maps/lanes.

            • Because if you miss a shoot with a hand cannon, they become the worst guns in the game. The TRK goes from .8 too something like 1.3. Miss a shot with a scoot? Don’t worry, you have double the range, and near double the rate of fire. Pulses? Even more range, even faster rate of fire. Auto’s? Yeah, you miss a shot with one of those, doesn’t matter, fifty more and coming out. You miss a shot with a hand cannon? Well you’re already close enough too die in one shoot to a fusion, shot gun, warlock melee’s, or hunter stuff. Your gun doesn’t shoot fast enough too spray, and has the lowest amount of mag size. If you think hand cannons need a nerf, you’re just going against players that know how too actually use one / better players.

              85% for Hawkmoon, 71 for Dire and 78 for Palindrome and I'm only decent with hand cannons. I've noticed that I've had more 3 taps in D2 compared to D1 headshot wise so I'm thinking it make the base AA at least 60 perhaps and have only 1 hand cannon targeting able to be used

            • Why don't we just get the entire crucible nerfed out of existence at this point... How does nerfing everything that kills you help the growth of the game? If something is truly broken like Lorentz driver then call for a Nerf, don't get everything nerfed to a point where all PvP players decide to leave the game because everything is getting nerfed into oblivion... If hand cannons were that easy to use, all of those who upvoted this would be using them!

              • Yeah I just quit PvP altogether. It's easily one of the worst FPS PvP experiences out there ATM and it's not even close.

                • At some point in the design of Bungie's Crucible the gold tablets were brought out and The Rules were inscribed upon them. The game shall be not be competitive but by who can obtain the cheesiest gear. The game shall be dominated by Handcannon paired with Shotgun. Snipers will take third place but long range maps won't be provided. A new Class will now take over from Destiny 1 as the PvP Class. . Rumours have it that a few other rules were so written. Then they wrapped it in silk and put it in the vault never to be brought out again.

                  • Shhhh little light. Crying nerf is what nearly killed this game. How about buff other types to match? The kill time is already slow af with primaries compared to specials.
