I see a lot of people (mostly mouse and keyboard players, no offence) that don’t understand that both controller and mouse and keyboard have aim assist
Both have bullet magnetism which is when the bullet moves to hit the head
Target acquisition (targeting mods) refers to this
Controller only has reticle stickiness which is when the crosshair lightly stays on target, but this can be broken easily
Here is an example of bullet magnetism
Guardian 1: *on M&K and aims his sniper a tiny bit over the head, the reticle is off the head but only by a tiny bit. He takes the shot and it still counts as a headshot*
Guardian 2: *on controller and aims his sniper a tiny bit over the head, the reticle is off the head but only by a tiny bit. He takes the shot and it still counts as a headshot*
Here is an example of reticle stickiness
Guardian: *on controller and hovers his hip fire reticle over the other guardian*
Other Guardian: *moves to the right a bit*
Guardian: *reticle stays on the Guardian other Guardian a tiny bit as the other Guardian moves a small margin*
Other Guardian: *moves to the right a big amount*
Guardian: *reticle does not stay on other Guardian*
The youtuber “Drewsky” explains this system really well in his videos, I recommend them if you want to learn more
Just thought I would clear things up for some who don’t understand :)
Edit: can’t believe this simple post is making some people mad lol, keep crying. Bungie has proven the points I’ve made multiple times.

As someone who went from console to pc, there is an insane difference between MnK and controller. And I will say that most streamers use controllers unlike popular belief. The top players use controllers mainly as well. You can't deny it everyone knows deep down if you aren't using controller you better be a God at aiming with a mouse; otherwise the controller will win everytime. That's how bad the aim assist is, meaning that you aren't playing the game, the game is playing itself.

Bungie has proven the points I’ve made multiple times.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, there is absolutely no aim assist except to pull your reticle off of your intended target. This has never changed. Oh, and Bungie put back on that hidden juggler modifier they were questioned about during Forsaken.

16 RepliesEdited by Wynd: 12/28/2021 9:24:33 AMIt's always comedy gold seeing controller players attempt every trick in the book to down play what controller aim assist actually does. Both input devices have larger hit boxes/bullet magnetism. Controller has two additional types of aim assist. First is the reticle actively moves on its own to track targets for you. This effect is so powerful you actually see controller players throwing fits on the forums that someone runs in front of their target and the aim assist actually pulls the reticle off their original target to chase the new target. I would love for one of you aim assist crutchers to explain to me how you try to pretend this doesn't exist or isn't worth mentioning, yet it's so powerful it can actually over power your attempts to stay on a target and choose a new one for you automatically lol. The other additional type of aim assist is reticle slow down. Basically if the reticle ends up near a target and your thumb stick inputs would actually take the reticle off the target this kicks in and reduces what your input is actually doing. Making it very hard to aim off of a target once on a target. Combine these two effects and you get a nasty combination of the game pulling the reticle towards heads for you automatically and reducing your own input to make sure you don't aim off of the target as well. The advantages are insane in any straight up dueling scenario. You strafe to dodge their shots, game automatically tracks you. If they over or under aim the wrong direction it doesn't matter cuz hey reticle slow down is here to save the day. This is why dueling them is obnoxious, you are literally trying to out shoot a lower grade aim bot. Yes very good players can use movement to get the jump on them and win. What most of these turds abusing this aim assist like to pretend is everyone's a God at d2. Every one streams 20 hours a day. When in reality you have a ton new/bad players try this game just to get screwed by kids abusing controller aim assist and quit. It's one thing losing cuz you're new and learning. It's another when you are being last worded by a controller player that can't even get the reticle on your body at all or is aiming at your crotch even with all the aim assist aiming for them and they still get rewarded with a 3 tap on you. Or some turd abusing the aim assist on snipers or slugs. Sniping is so easy on controller people that main mnk will actually swap to controller mid tournament if their job becomes sniping. Think about that, people swap from their main input device to abuse the aim assist.... No other game has this where you swap inputs to snipe lol.

9 RepliesLooool recticle stick can be broken easily….. I’m sorry that’s too funny
-
5 RepliesAnyone who plays on mnk and cries about controllers needs to get their blood checked for illegal amounts of copium.
-
6 Replieswell explained - there are youtuber's who proved this, but people seem to still not understand the basics of this
-
61 RepliesYet they’ll never stop -blam!- about controller AA in any FPS. It’s a joke.
-
9 RepliesPeople complaining about controller are hyper bad at the game not gonna lie. Only like 2 top tier controller players in the game and the rest is dominated by MnK, wonder why 🤔

19 RepliesEdited by Rogue: 12/28/2021 1:11:39 PMI grew up on consoles, played destiny on a PS4 for 5 years, and moved to PC. I gotta say dude, I really thought I was good. Thanks to AA I was a god with cannons, I only had to line the gun up once then I could fire at full speed and 9/10 land all my crits. That is not what it’s like on PC. It became very apparent to me how strong controller AA was just recently, during a custom pvp match between friends. Myself and a friend, we are both long term players who raid/ solo dungeons etc, got into a duel and we both emptied our entire magazines, without landing a single bullet. I kind of flashed back over damn near every single gun fight I ever had. I have never once in my entire life seen someone miss an entire clip on console. I also used to think I was a decent sniper with a strong flick, too. Nope. It was all the AA. When it was taken away I was starting from square one, and had to actually learn how to flick shot, not just get close enough and have the game do the rest for me. You can’t understand the difference till you try both.

4 RepliesDid you watch drewskys recent dmt video. Mind telling me why he can barely land body shots when hip firing but is basically locked onto heads adsing other weapons with 100 aim assist lol? Surely it's not because aim assist has been crutching this kid for years right?

1 ReplyControllers aa is so broken that 40% of pc players use controller. You legit need a controller sniper on your team to win a tourney.

6 RepliesThat stickinessis super underrated. It also casuses light trackiing when you don't know where someone is. In your example M&K is off just a bit and magnatisim takes over. If the controller is off a little, the magnatisim takes over. However, if the controller is off a bit, that means it was actually off by quite a lot. The stickiness prevented it from being way too far off. I think because M&K is missing the meat and potatos of AA, that is the reason why they say sticks has it and M&K doesn't. When the Bungie team decided to add recoil to PC and not give AA to make it 'even' with console, it emphasized how PC doesn't have AA. You are correct, AA is made up of two parts. PC does not have AA. PC does have bullet magnatisim.
